A homeowner in Sacramento is being treated for non life threatening wounds after successfully fighting off 3 armed home invaders who tried to attack his home last night.

The homeowner grabbed a weapon after 3 armed men tried to break into the home, and opened fire.

The homeowner was shot by one of the suspects, but he managed to shoot all 3 suspects. One of the shot suspects died at the scene and the other 2 are being detained by police as they try to figure out exactly what happened.

Residents say there were children in the home at the time of the attempted home invasion. There may have been a children’s slumber party going on at the time of the attack.

Editor’s note: We are thankful that the homeowner was fast acting and armed or we could be talking about a mass murder of children at a slumber party today.

This is a pretty "swanky" neighborhood too..... I've done a few deliveries there this year... lots of doctors and lawyers etc.....

Compared to my neighborhood that has all kinds of urban outdoorsmen & other assorted skaggs roaming around.... G19 on one side, USP .45 nearby me at all times...

I believe they can both be charged with murder now, as someone died in the commission of a felony they took part in. So it'll be at least 5 years before they're back on the street.

Credibility/background of the defender is something that comes to mind. I don't like raising up someone as a fine example of a gun ownership if it turns out he is a drug dealer and owed other bad people money/drugs and they were coming to collect.

Be fore I throw my arm around someone and say "hes one of us", I want to know that he is indeed, one of us...

It's the skeptic in me...just saying.

What I was thinking too, I really do hope this guy is clean. Not that it would matter, though, the media won't touch it unless he's dirty in some way.

Keep an eye out for this- there have been a lot of lists of "Shootings since Sandy Hook" going around. This would be a great way to illustrate how they'll turn a story with important details into a misleading statistic.
