While I agree that this site is not neccessarily covered under the 1st Ammendment as it is seen as a private facility, there must be an accounting for those that espouse ideas that are abhorrent to the majority. OK. WE are AR15.com- WE need to maintain the energy and spirit of the site. I too have seen a bit of "drift" lately, but this is still the best gun forum on the net.
There are indeed lots of new mods, and I understand that will indeed color the conversations. Lets move ahead, and maintain the truthful and genuine-belief-nature of our posts- if they get canned, oh well. Its our fault if we let it change and we don't like it. The other night I was really excited to see the energy return to the posts, it had seemed kind of tame lately. Lets move on and restore that energy and not worry about the PC junk. [8D] |

I think this place is a good place to learn. It was like the wild west when I first started visiting. It was fun. The double finger birdies were flying like crazy and it cracked me up. Now days I think we have a bunch of people that would also like to let their kids on and I believe thats where the rub is along with the Avilas trying to attract paying sponsers. I really don't have an answer so I'm just going to go along with the flow ....but I do miss the exileration of the "rapids" of days gone by!

Anyone here work or have worked for a company that had more than one supervisors doing the same job for the same department and they all had different personalities and ways of running the department. The result ending up in the workers not knowing what is the correct way or the incorrect way of doing the job? This is how this site is with all the different mods. Guys, this site has always had a lot of mods, it's just that Goaty showed their status as a mod in every forum now, as opposed to just the forum they were a mod in.
Now I am all for free expression, but some of this idiotic racist stuff is only there to rile people up, some people here are just too needy and want the attention. Think of them as trolls. I think you're addressing all the racial crap that's been quoted off of some of the white supremist boards as of late and the threads it's spawned. Political correctness is not avoiding pornography, blasphy, and racism. I think that stuff is in the bible - and pre-dates "PC" by a few thousand years as "PC" is a 1990 thing. To me, political correctness is not calling a black board a black board because it might offend black Americans, not calling a flip chart a flip chart because it might offend Philippinos, not calling a white board a white board because it might offend caucasians. There is a group of people here who I who call racial bigots who are out to further their cause at everyone's expense. These persons are obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices in direct conflict with polite society. There must be parts of this country where this blight still festers among the uncultured but I couldn't tell you where they are cause I've never seen such idiots face-to-face in my life. I have seen them on Jenny Jones and Jerry Springer though. Not using racial slanders isn't politically correct it just plain correct. Calling it "PC" and complaining about it speaks volumes about the people doing the complaining if this is your point. Political correctness is "a conformity to a belief that language and practices which could offend political sensibilities should be eliminated". (Webster's) Think whatever you like but please hold your tounge if you've come here to sling racial hate. If one started talking that way in my house they'd be shown the door. The Avilas have asked the same and polite guests obey the house rules. The bottom line is if you're looking for a place to share your hate this ain't it. |

[:D] The real rules have been in effect for more than a year now with a few changes. I wouldn't think that any of them require that you agree with a single thing that I think as long as you are able to follow what is required by the forum conduct rules you are good to go. There has been an attempted invasion by some like (re: small) minded people who have become quite vocal when the old timers here have complained and fought back. Go see what George Carlin has to say about that. I don't go out of my way to insult any one. Except maybe a PETA member. I realize that some people make an issue out of the color of someones skin, I for one believe jerks come in all colors, sex and sizes. Also nice people come in similar packages. Judge by the deeds. I am a racist. A Human Racist. Most of the mods are pretty cool. Some of them can be a holes though. I am not motivated by politics. I will speak my mind, argue a point, and read what other's write.
