Here you go, here is the chance to educate the media. |

Quoted:
Fuck CNN We're not going to get anywhere with that attitude... I recommend professional looking minorities, gays, and women flood iReport. |

Modern day musket
Should know it before joining military. Should know it to enjoy being a free man. |
|
I have a hard time believing that it's not a convenient way to collect accounts from individuals, adjust context or content slightly, and store for later use as "proof" that we're all fuckin' crazy nutters.

Compile every single ar hunting pic you can find block the faces and submit them. Shut down their argument that these rifles are not used for hunting.

Well when the space shuttle fell on East, TX and a CNN van crashed thru my locked gate to shoot video I almost got to use an AR-15. Does that count? Instead I asked them to leave before I shot one of them for trespassing and they said they would contact the sheriff for being threatened. I gave them his name and number and never heard back on it.

CNN summarized some of their iReport gun owner remarks and linked them to their homepage near the top of the Newtown/AWB coverage. They chose some solid, well reasoned arguments to quote, no editorializing or cherry picking some nutcase: http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/21/us/military-style-weapons-ireport/index.html?hpt=hp_t3

There is no way they will not distort and discredit anything you say
They are trolling for material and they can put a name and face to it now Give them nothing |
|
Can't educate assault journalists who own hi capacity propaganda spraying devices. Trust me, they WILL distort and outright lie about any information we give them.

Pretty solid comment:
"However since it acts as a deterrent, we can never measure exactly how much it has been effective. Perhaps the notion that people feel safe with our government after over 200 years is a testament to the Second Amendment value in balancing power with the citizens."
|

Bets on CNN printing either
1. folks that make Ted Nugent look sane and well grounded and 2. Stories about AR's raping the truck, then running away with the dog and the girl? |
|
Rachel Davino and Anne Marie Murphy (teachers aides), Dawn Hochsprung (principal), Victoria Soto and Anne Marie Murphy (teachers) Lauren Rousseau (substitute teacher) and Mary Sherlach (psychologist) all laid their lives down for their students.
Unarmed. They are heroes for that. I for one would think that future teachers and school employees would want to at least have the option to protect and defend their students with something other than their bodies. That is why I support instructing and allowing teachers to make their own choice about arming themselves to protect their students. This is how I am going to approach the issue of armed teachers and school employees. |

I hesitate to take it at face value just yet. I think it would be a great development for them to cover an issue with a balanced approach. |

Background can factor into a gun owner's choice of weapon. "The AR-15 is what I am used to from my extensive training as an airborne infantryman," writes Nathan Lee. "Because of my training, it's what I feel the most comfortable with." Another reason for these guns is hunting. The AR-15 is a "good hunting platform. I've hunted coyote with it," says CNN iReporter MVR155, who owns two of the weapons. He asked to remain anonymous. Owners of military-style rifles also use them to hunt deer and other game. But some states have banned the AR-15 and its .223 caliber for deer hunting. 'Fascination with the Second Amendment' "I am a proud owner of an AK-47," writes iReporter INGunOwner. "It's a terrific gun. Lots of fun to shoot. I own an AK because of my fascination with the Second Amendment, which I view as a backstop protector of freedom. Many people would argue that we have no use for it today because the government is trustworthy. "However since it acts as a deterrent, we can never measure exactly how much it has been effective. Perhaps the notion that people feel safe with our government after over 200 years is a testament to the Second Amendment value in balancing power with the citizens." |

I don't like CNN anymore than you guys. But I believe this is legit, if you ever wanted the main stream to understand your view on this you better take it now. Several have and their stories are great, we need some more out there.

here is the chance to educate the media. The media isn't looking for "education" - It's looking for stories that either reinforce its anti-gun views, or discredit the opposition. |

CNN wants to know your Ar15 story.
What year is this and how long have I been asleep? |

Quoted: http://ireport.cnn.com/topics/898502 Here you go, here is the chance to educate the media. I completely agree. We shouldn't just say "fuck you, stay away from me guns!!!!!!". What we need to do is calmly debate, share our positive experiences with the AR15 and being at the range and that we are polite people. If we always reply angrily and not actually take people to the range or talk about it, then these people will always have a bad stigma for the AR15 |

Well, Jake Tapper did leave ABC for CNN, and he is about the only journalist actually practicing journalism, instead of being a mouthpiece for the left. His wife is a regional field manager for Planned Parenthood. Not saying he's not a real journalist but the left is like one of those tumors that doesn't form a mass, it just wraps itself around everything else. I like him and yes, he's an exception. But for how long? |
|
Well in about 1775 it was a plow shear that was beat into a tool to take tyrants out of this country.
It has been idle for to long neither plowing for food or fighting for our rights. |
|
I don't trust CNN.
They are looking to twist the issue to make us all look bad. |
