Haven't seen the movie yet, but just finished the first book.  To be honest, it was kinda crappy.  Well, mostly crappy is really what it was.  Are the other books better?

Haven't read the books, just saw the movie. I found it to be one of the most technically accurate movies I've ever seen. Of course, I wouldn't know anything about technical accuracy, so.....

Read some of the books. Cant see diminutive Tom Cruise as the 6' 5" 250lb character.

It was pretty good. Whomever they got for firearms guy put together some really nice looking rifles.

My GF's father has read all of the books and he's pissed off to the high heavens over them casting Tom Cruise as the lead.

Evidently, JR is supposed to be a big, bad and mean mother humper and TC is not.

Nope, but that's not going to stop anybody from telling you how much it sucks.

This is ARFCOM. I would be more worried if they didn't.

It was a pretty good actioneer.

I like Werner Herzog (Zek). The German accent didn't quite match the Russian backstory, though.

Robert Duvall damn near stole the show.  A little too heavy on the comedy but I enjoyed it.

Someone actually paid to watch a Tom Cruise movie?

GF and I went to see it today. Neither of us has ever read the books and we enjoyed it. Didn't expect some award winning piece of art, just good entertainment, and that's what we got.

I'm going to see it tonight. Tom Cruise has had good small arms training in the past, so that should reflect in his weapon handling in this one. I haven't read the books so his casting doesn't concern me.

Gerard Butler would have been my choice. But Cruise is. Pretty good on everything he does.

Seen it last night, one of the best movies we have seen in a long time.No sparking bullets,no gasoline bombs,I did not see anything obviously computer generated.I don't like Tom Cruise and I went with a preconceived notion that, that wimpy, little pretty boy would ruin the whole movie, not the case! And oh,yeah a lot of pov m-14,m1a action.

Just got back from the theatre. Good movie. A couple things didn't make sense, but they must have been carry overs from the book.

I plan on seeing it sometime in the next week or two and am pretty excited about it. I've read nearly all the books and I don't mind them casting Cruise, I've enjoyed most of his movies.

Wee Tom Cruise pulled it off.  They helped a bit by being sure everyone else in the movie was less than 5'7" in height....

I saw it and liked it a lot. Never read the books. I liked all of the comedy. Great lines.

Reacher: "I can't afford you."
Girl:  "I"m not a hooker."
Reacher: "Then I definitely can't afford you."

Coincidentally for all those hating on the movie, it was directed by Christopher McQuarrie; aka the writer and director of Way of the Gun... the movie ar15 wants to  have babies with.

I saw it tonight and I really liked it.  Shame there won't be a sequel.
