Can someone tell me the value of an aluminum, grey phospate colored, 3 position collapsable buttstock?

Thanks,

Genuine Colt, probably over $100. Anything else, under $100. Sorry I can't be more specific, but the prices vary widely.

How are the Colt stocks marked?

Colt Aluminum stocks will be marked with a (nn) in a small square under the release lever on the  right hand side.  Also there's a manufactures casting mark on the under side of the release lever.

Sp1 Aluminum stocks have 2 position gray buffer tubes, but it's common to find them on Black/Charcoal Black Colt 4-position tubes.

When PD's upgrade Sp1s to M4 copies they often just switch out the stocks and leave the buffer tube staked to the lower.

Colt Sp1 carbines are finished with a coating called Vinyl Acetate. The finish looks like a rubber coating and can vary in thickness and shine depending on the amount of finish applied.

Stocks sell in the $175-400 range depending on condition.
