Nice shot with the brass in the air!  Thanks again for a great day of shooting guys, I'm thinking we should have a shoot every other week, even if we only have a cookout once a month.

Maybe next time we can bring a steel trap and have a little shootout or something to spice up the day.  Two steel traps with competitors running side by side to knock them down first and we'll run a ladder type competition with the winner getting a Burger King crown, which I will generously supply from my own collection.

I think we can make this even better every time as today proved!  Thanks again!

They're claiming that the pic of "ChrisLE Popping off some rounds" with Bear behind him is scary.

-Note the slide is back and it really isn't aimed at ChrisLE, its aimed more in front of him than anything else.

I agree    I was next to "Bear" and his daughter all day with my nephews and the picture being 2 dimensional makes it look like the weapon is closer to the side than it really was.  They both exhibited safe gun handling skills all day long with both pistols and long guns.  Trust me with the 14 and 9 year old next to them I was being extra vigilant about watching all those around us and I had nothing to complain about from Bear.  The picture's parralex is mis leading.  To those concerned go back and look closely at the pic and try to draw a line from the muzzle outwards and you'll see it is no where near Chrisle.   Be safe!  Have fun!

Chris,

I feel really bad about the picture, it has bother me all day today, I know there is not excuse for it, it happened after I empty the magazine and I turned around to talk to Lee, (my daughter) It bothers me even more because I thought I have always been so freacking careful about these things, I don't even put a magazine in my handgun or rifle until I am facing the target and ready to shoot, I just don't know what to say to make it right, I know is WRONG. I know the muzzle is not pointing at you and is empty, but for me to turn with the gun in my hand, to talk to someone behind me is just STUPID and unsafe. I am really sorry and disappointed with myself.

It was great seeing the faces to go with the screen names. Enjoyable afternoon, however after 200 rounds in the pistol section with my cop friend from college I was gone for the heat. (You know P.O. O'brien loved the shoot, especially since its all copes, fire and medics! You guys certainly can take 95+ with little problems.  I also had a splitting headache from the Saw Doctors' Concert the night previous at the Belmonst festival.  (If there was is one problem with shooting its that its NO BOOZE).

Thanks for the food and the goodies, and if anyone likes the Saw Doctors or Dropkick Murphy's I know the guys that run a lot of the festivals and venues they play at, just drop me a line.  Also if you need some civil litigation help gratis etc., just drop me a PM cause maybe I can help.  Also if you are having a business problem or need some introductions in Manhattan please let me know.

Helldog, Thanks for cooking!  I think you would like the restaraunt in Glendale called Zum Stammtish.  YOu have probably been there, but, if you have not, trust me, its your kind of place.  The last of the old German resaraunts left.  C U soon, and yes I will be back to causing trouble on these boards shortly.

Thank you every one for a great day. It was my first time getting together with the group. It was my daughters first time shooting anything, so I spent most of the time with her. Using my 220 Swift she was grouping under an inch at 100 yards by the end of the day.

When I did venture away from her to talk with the AR15.COMers, everyone was great. Very friendly. It must just be the rifles that are evil.  [:)]

HellDog, great dogs and burgers. Thanks for cooking.

Also, special thanks to FrankSquid for letting my friend and I take a shot on his .50 cal. WaaHoo, that thing rocks.

Again, what a great group of people. Can't wait for the next time.

28th sounds good to me.  I tried to start a poll earlier, but I can't figure out how!  Someone want to clue me in?

I'll bring the marinated chicken on squewers for next time.  Hopefully, it'll be cool enough for me to eat more than drink.

I was thinking that next time, maybe we should organize some contests or something.  For a couple bucks we can chip in and all compete for some cheeseball prize or kick in more and the prize can be something like a sniper grip or foregrip.

How about a 100 and 200 yard bird or "gong" shoot with open sights only?

Thanks for sharing the pics.  Looks like everyone had a good time.

Range looks a little like a giant quartz activated reflector oven tho.  Judging by the soaked t-shirts in the photos, it must have been warm.  Still, if I could have been there I would have been sweatin' with the rest of you fine folks.

edp- What can you tell us about the Enfield and the other bolt action rifle?  Is it an FR8?

Thanks,

I had other pictures of the Enfield and the FR8 but they didn't come out right. They were some guy who was there. Not from ar15.com he had some really old rifles and ammo I have never seen.
I had a flash and they messed up some pictures. Didn't realize how much a flash works in daylight also. That is why everything looks so bright. Like mentioned Quartz although it was very hot out there.
You should have been standing by the grill with Helldog. He did some job cooking on the grill. After 2 hot dogs I ate a Hamburger. Big mistake they were a meal in themselves.
Sorry it took so long to get the pictures out, but it took me 2 days to recover from the heat and my Neck & Back pain.
