I just picked one of these up for my gf as a replacement for her Model 60 that was stolen, and saw that ProMag is now making drum mags for these things

30, 55, and 70rd drums are available through their website.

I think I'm going to pick up one of the 30rders and a cheap bipod for her just to see if it works

That is patently ridiculous in an admirable and most awesome fashion.

Why don't they use metal feed lips?

ETA: Tag for range report, though.

I paid $129 for the rifle with a cheap 4x scope on Black Friday sale.

Think of how cool it would be to go buy an accurate .22 rifle, scope, and big ass drum mag for under $200 brand new!

If these mags are any good, I think we'll see a lot more 795 owners popping up

Does anybody know if these mags are interchangeable with the 925 marlin bolt action mags?  I think it might be kinda cool to have a 30 rounder for my 925

Yep.

Never in my entire life seen a promag that worked reliably. Can't think of a less reliable brand.

Don't show the kids. This sounds like a good way to make shooting .22LR expensive.

Yup. It took ProMags for two different guns for me to learn that their products aren't even worth trying.

I can see a .32 PPK being fussy, but it takes a special sort of incompetence to consistently jam up a Glock 17.

RANGE REPORT Pro Mag Marlin 795 25 rd magazines

25rds (old) Remington Thunderbolt 100%

25rds (old) Federal 550 value pack 1 ejected and got caught on scope mount screw head and bolt handle. next round chambered fine. flicked jammed empty and continued fine. (NOT MAGAZINES FAULT)

25rds (old) Federal Lightening round chambered empty jammed between bolt handle and receiver, again flicked round clear and continued firing. (NOT MAGAZINES FAULT)

I need to repostion the scope mount screw head!

285 rds (new) Remington Golden Bullet bulk pack. Two rounds failed to fully chamber, after pushing forward on bolt handle both rounds fired and ejected fine. I believe both rounds were out of spec and this caused them to be hard to chamber.

360 rounds fired, two failed to clear the scope mount screw head and two chambered with stiff resistance.

When I move the scope screw heads to the other side that will eliminate that problem.

Remington Golden bullets are generally comsidered to be THE CRAPPIEST 22LR LOAD and I feel that out of spec rounds caused the hard chambering.

Pro Mag Marlin 795 magazines are as good as factory 10rd magazines x 2.5!

They are hard to load when you get past 12rds, Pro Mag needs to sell a mag loader.

THESE ARE GREAT MAGAZINES!!!!!

Magazine cost nearly the same as the gun. Good for them making it but I can't see someone going to pick out a $130 gun and then get a $110 mag for it. I guess the market will decide.

Ya know a nice AR only costs about $800ish; wanna take a poll of how much cash most members here actually have invested in their ARs?

That said, the 25rder is $21 on the manufacturer site and less in stores; likewise the 30 rd drum is $50 on the site; should be cheaper in the stores.

If the 70 rounder works well, I think $100 might be worth it

I bought 5 promag mags for my GSG-5 before i heard about their bad reoutation..so far, a couple of thousand rounds later i have yet to have a problem with any of them..the OEM GSG 10-rounders?  THEY jam all the time.  While I wouldnt use a promag on a carry gun, for me at least they work pretty good for plinkers
