I have a bottle of Chateauneuf-De-Pape from 1996 that spent a few years in a closet that may have reached 90* or so occasionally in the summers. I think it was exposed to those temperature fluctuations for about 6 years.
My concern is that the cork cover (some foil or whatever it is) had swelled. This may not be a big deal, but here is a pic:  Pic of bottle label:  Should this be OK to drink? |

I think it might not be at it's peak...but it is at a decently high alcohol percent I don't think it is "bad". Also I am drinking red wine right now, and I am classy as fuck.

It was definitely not stored optimally.
However, I would wager that it would still be safe to drink and may be "ok".

its likely damaged since the cork is pushed
drink it now, but dont expect it to be amazing...but should be drinkable |
