So I just ordered some Pad Thai from a local place.

There are small bits (3-8mm breadth, 0.5-2mm thick) of gray, chewy, extremely salty meat-like substance throughout the dish.

WTF is this?

If you want, I'll take the remnants out of the trash can and take pics.

This (or something worse) is what I'm afraid of.

What country are you in? That would help.

Probably fatty pork, but if you're in MDG (Madagascar?), who the fuck knows..

My guess is either extremely overcooked tofu or pork/chicken likewise overcooked.

Either way, I wouldn't eat there again. You've got to be a terrible cook to screw up Pad Thai.

Yeah, not gonna eat there again.

It actually tasted fine, except for these bizarre specks of something.

Well, I went to Google "bushmeat" to come back with a snippy reply, and ended up just walking away from the whole foreigner food thing.
