If there's one thing I've learned about arfcom, it's that you can find a connoisseur of absolutely anything.

There are plenty of smokehouses with an online presence. Who makes the best bacon?

Best bacon imho usually comes from local places.  We have a pork shop near by and it is awesome.  There is also the "make it yourself" crowd.

HOLY COW....

I thought I had seen thick cut bacon before but that takes the cake.   I dare say it may even be too thick?

I like my slices to be right around 3/16 of an inch thick.

By bacon if you mean cured ham than it is Jamón Ibérico de Bellota

$54 for 3 oz. Worth every penny. Every other ham is just pig meat

Crispy?  Why on God's earth would you ruin a good piece of bacon by making it crispy?

As opposed to what? Some semi-cremated desecration of former deliciousness?  If you want crispy, smear grease on some twigs.  It'll look and taste about the same

twigs don't have grease built in. Bacon is meant to be crispy.

The best Bacon available nation-wide is Nueske Applewood Smoked.  It is by far the best Bacon I've ever bought.  My wife won't even eat regular grocery store Bacon anymore - its that good.  It also has a lot less water in it, so it cooks faster and doesn't shrink as much.

I can buy it at a store near me for less than Amazon.  Otherwise, its a special occasion Bacon.

No, it's NOT..and...and.... I bet you clean all the bacon grease out of your pan before you do the eggs, too.

Gotta use that dirty pan for the eggs brother! Whether fried or scrambled, bacon grease and bits are required in my house. My wife likes her bacon extra crispy almost dry and crumbly, I make mine crispy but its still has to have a chew to it. When I bite into it I have to slightly tear it off, similar to jerky I guess. Now I need bacon...

My family (Mom, Dad, sister, and I) like our bacon limp.  Not soggy or raw, but cooked with good color and some chewiness.  Unfortunately, my wife and son (I have failed.....) like theirs ruined....cremated.....shatter-when-you-drop-it burnt.

Maple syrup can do many things...but not save burnt bacon.

HEB stores make a jalapeno bacon. Thick-cut, perfect heat. Not really hot, just a jalapeno flavor and a little bite. It's very excellent stuff.
