Dishwashers: Should I get a Bosch?

Looking at something mid-range, say 500 to 650. Possibilities are Bosch, Kitchen-Aid, Whirlpool, LG, and maybe Samsung and Maytag. What do you all think?

My wife and I bought aBosch and liked it enough to take it with us when we moved, twice.

Bosch is pretty good, the only slight downside is that their capacities tend to be a little less. That may not be the case anymore, I haven't worked with appliances in a few years. Electrolux is pretty fucking sweet, that's what I have and you can't tell when it's running.

Just installed a Bosch a few months ago, quietest dishwasher ive owned and cleans very well. Probably same model you are looking at, I think I paid around $600 at Lowe's for it.

For what its worth, Maytag is now made by whirlpool. I was going to replace my old maytag with a new one when sales guy to me that.

My wife and I have a fairly new Bosch dishwasher (4-5 months) and it is amazing. Totally clean, no soap residue and quiet as mouse farts.

ETA: Ascenta model

It's got plenty of capacity...probably a bit more than the GE that it replaced.

Based upon a thread here about 1 1/2 years ago, I bought a Bosch. Best thing I ever did.

As has been said, they do a fantastic job of cleaning. Ours is so quiet that I often don't know that it is running until it beeps to signal that it is done.

We have a Bosch, dont recall the model number off the top of my head but it was a top consumer report pick and it ran about $550ish. Quite as a mouse, easy install (though most dishwashers are...) and have never had issues with it.

Had a bosch and it worked great for about 20 years. Recently replaced it with a Frigidaire which is so quiet you have to look to see if it's running. Both work great.

Bosch GTG use jet dry like the salesman said and you will be a happy camper. I had a GE. The Bosch is better.

I put in a mid-range Bosch dishwasher when I re-did my kitchen two years ago. It's very quiet, cleans the dishes well, and has good capacity. I would buy it again.

Thanks guys. I ordered the Bosch. 539 on sale at sears and 12 months no interest. Not a bad deal - the 20 or 30 year old Maytag that came with our house has basically given up the ghost; Merry Christmas to us :)

I just bought a dishwasher. Two things that turned me off of the bosch, the no heat dry and no food grinder. We went with a kitchenaid that had those features. I've been happy with it.

I bought a Bosch back around 2004. When I remodeled the kitchen in 2005, it was the only appliance I kept. I still have it.

Damned near silent, and does a great job on the dishes. Worth every penny.

The company I get my cabinets from had a bosch running on the wash cycle loop for 4 years every moment they where open. When the display was outdated theey rewire it to narmal and the owners son has it in his kitchen maybe 10 years and it works fine

you could not hear it running 10 feet away in the display
