Let it go for a bit and see if others spot it. If you're right, good catch.

is it the fact that the frame is a RTF or the after market mag?

Yes, it is an RTF2 frame but the mag is factory with a Vickers baseplate. It being an RTF2 is only part of it. I'm sure I've given it away now...

Yeah, I'm lost too.

RTF2 frame
Either Trijicon HD or Warren sights
SF X300
Some sort of strange aftermarket baseplate.
Factory slide and mag release
Factory barrel.  Standard slide.

The rollmarks are austrian imported through GA, so standard corporate import.  Not a ported barrel or anything like that.

The slide serrations.... on the RTF2 should be the curved version. But these are straight. Took me a minute to catch that.

Bingo! They only made the 17 frames with the fish-gill slides. I hate the fish-gills so I bought two in order to make the one pistol I wanted. The RTF2 frame is my favorite frame by far and my RFT 19's are pretty much all I train with and carry.

I am going to send the fish-gill slide to doug for his serration package that I just saw and an RMR2.

I thought RTF2 with gills was the oddball...

If not, some of you might be pissed that I HAD the same thing until I sanded the RTF2 and stippled it. I hated that cheese grater texture.

The one in our shop has the gills, and I thought that was the answer. However a quick Google search found the RTF 17's with normal serrations.

True, but very few have. I've only seen a half dozen of them if that. It takes a special kind of Glock idiot to buy two NIB pistols, just so they can make the one pistol that they want.

But he took a slide and put it on a different frame!  Certainly worthy of a thread.

Doug Holloway at ATEi  He does great work. Mostly on M&P's but does RMR milling and serrations on Glocks.

Read the description, not sure where they got the pic but Glocks description is correct. To my knowledge Glock never shipped a straight serration RTF2 17. There was rumor that a very few were shipped very early, but no one has ever found one to post.

You are wrong. My brothers department just got new guns and they are all RTF frames with the vertical, older style slide serrations.
Sorry you had to buy two pistols!

Are they 17's or some other model?  There was a small run of G21SF rtf's and they have straight cocking serrations, and they are the bees knees.

OP, i've done similar playing with mine.  I have a RTF 17 topped off with a G17 exo slide.

I've had 3 LE distributors look for the pistol and Glock claims that they have never delivered one except for the very first guns. According to Glock after the crescent serrations were released none were shipped after that. A current model # would be great because it doesn't exist (with the exception of the first production guns I mentioned). Would Glock maybe make them for a bigger department, yeah, I could see that, but considering that the departments are what got the RTF2 killed, it seems odd.

Luckily I didn't really have to buy an extra pistol. The fish-gill will have new serrations cut front and rear, Boresite stippling and an RMR added. So in the end it works out for me. I would have been fine with buying an extra one if it had come to that though, as I really like this combo.

Nice! It's by far my favorite frame, its hard to believe that a little uniform wear would make Glock kill it.

Holding a traditional 17 frame vs the RTF2 makes a big difference to me. If a regular framed 17 is not stippled, I have a much harder time running the gun hard. The 19 is a bit easier for me, but for the most part all of my 19 shooting is through the RTF2's. I plan on sending the Talo 19 to Ben for some of his magic and get that into the rotation at some point.
