I just compared these TV's side by side, and couldn't really see any difference in quality.  All were 108, 120hz

What other differences are there, besides price?

Get a LED.

I went with LCD a couple of years ago, less power consumption then the plasma and the LED tech wasn't quite there yet.  LED has likely improved enough now and it's power consumption would likely be the least of the three choices.

LEDs are LCDs.

The difference is what they use for backlight: Regular LCDs have fluorescent backlights, LED LCDs have, well, LED backlights. They can lead to better dynamic ranges because of better local dimming, but if you look at the light emitted from the set it's often very blue. Not a reason not to pick one up, just a note.

Agreed: Plasmas run warmer than LCDs.

Whatever you decide upon, calibrate it whenever you get it into position for best performance.

Good explanation. For the OP's question:
If you can afford them,
LED-backlit HDTVs are the way to go. They're thin, energy efficient, and
can produce a great picture, but getting all three of those features
costs a premium. If you're on a budget, look for a good plasma screen.
They're heavy power hogs, but you can get a gorgeous cinematic
experience for not nearly as much money. If your budget is limited and
you can't find a plasma, CCFL is likely your only other choice, but
CCFL-backlit LCDs typically can't match plasmas or LEDs on screen size
or features.
