Saw this in the supermarket today. looks like a Recoil type mag with lots of pretty pictures. Picked it up and showed it to my 12 year old daughter and asked "Whats wrong with this picture?" Took her 1.5 secs to say "He has his finger on the trigger"

AHHH Fatherly pride!

I have to agree.  I used to love gun magazines back in the 70's, 80's and 90's when that's all there was.  I used to buy just about any military history related magazines I could find, especially if they were WW2 and had Germans in them.   Now forums like this is where you learn the real weapon info or the rest of the internets for everything else.  Its too bad too because print is still a good way to gather info, just not as good, quick or economical.

Less concerned about trigger discipline of what looks to be a soldier in the field, than the words "KNOCKDOWN POWER"

The weapon is on fire and the picture is taken from a USMC COMCAM photo of an IARs being used in combat.

But but but................he's a killa.   And and a trained one at that.   So that makes it all better.

I quit paying attention to the krap in gun mags decades ago.

So.. You have to ask, what was this Individual doing when this picture was taken ?
If the answer is, he was getting ready to shoot..

THEN YOU NEED YOUR FUCKING FINGER ON THE TRIGGER..

Get over yourself s people, some people actually use their weapon.

Actually I think he's about to shoot a very tiny chinese soldier - he's just feeling so guilty that he has to look away when he does it

FWIW all the classes I've been to - including the police academy - we were taught that your finger going on the trigger doesn't happen in a low ready position, and in the academy we reviewed excerpts of AAR's where such behavior resulted in injuries and/or fatalities.

But hey, what do I know.

ETA - If he was "ready to shoot" then his target is at his feet and about 16" tall - then I'll criticize his not having his weapon in a proper firing position.

If I see a 16" tall adult in combat you can bet your sweet, hickory ass I'm gonna be prepared to light that fucker up like a pinball machine.  You know how creepy that would be?

Fuck...

I don't go around with my finger on the trigger but I pose with it in pictures in order to tweak off anal-retentive pedants.

I guess it's dangerous if you have Parkinson's, or don't know how safeties work.

I also call mags clips.
