What would be nice would be if that news story was titled "Racists ALLEGEDLY Run Black Family Out Of Orange County."
That way, you know, it would not actually be stating a conclusion prior to any substantive evidence being provided. |

Racism goes both ways and is probably equal if not more prevelant with blacks in the north than with whites. Tolerance is practiced by more whites than blacks in my area from my experience. The blacks I encounter while working will not even attempt to hide the fact they do not like your kind and will treat you down right rudely.

Unfortunately, it has been used so much, it has been watered down so much it is now met with a reactionary rolling of the eyes. Sort of like a "Cry wolf" I always love my rebuttal of "Son, I have been voting for the black man before it was the 'IN THING'... Remember a man by the name of Allen Keyes?" I am usually met with "WHO?" To that I respond with "Of course you dont know... because you voted for Al Gore... racist!" |

Saying that, when I worked at the Post Office some many moons ago, I was told point blank that "I'm black, I don't gotta work.." That was in 1977 and thus began my great awakening from being a liberal. That and when after working 19 straight 12-hour days and when I got my paycheck, half of it was taken because I was now "rich". Thank you Mr. Carter and forgive me God for ever voting for that POS. |

Yorba Linda is a very blended community with NO shortage of blacks and hispanics, in fact, one of the E5's in my former unit has been a resident there with his famiky for more than a decade. Um, yeah, they are as black as night. This is just an example of an attention whore group of people who were merely shitty neighbors and recieved the typical community response that anyone would for being shitty neighbors. If OC sucks so bad for them, they could always try life in San Bernardino or Compton. Racecard playing lacklusters. |

It sounded unbelievable to me, but here's some stats and other support for the family's claim.

The Southland's growing racial diversity, coupled with the economic downturn, has fostered a welcoming environment for hate groups in the area, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). Wade Michael Page, the deceased man accused of mass murder at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin in August, moved to the OC in 2001 specifically for the region's hate music scene. There was also a sizable neo-Nazi rally in Pomona to protest California's Dream Act. eta: I'm not taking a position on whether they're victims or full of shit. I can't tell either way. eta2: dang FL and CA have a lot of hate groups according the the SPLC! Palm trees and beaches breed Nazis, I guess.
