Met my father in law once in person in Ukraine when my wife and I were still dating. We were married a few months later. Her family love me and I like them a lot. Her father is a bit of a downer though. But I can't blame him as he is obviously old school Soviet.

Hate isn't strong enough a word.

Thankfully don't have to be around FIL for thanksgiving. Unfortunately have to endure MIL and her retard-ism for a while today.

After a certain point I had just stopped going to the in-laws for anything.
Thankfully I don't have in-laws anymore.

I don't see my FiL much but he is a good dude.

Now I hardly see my MiL and the less I see her the better. She annoys the shit out of me, voice grates on my nerves. Same goes for the GMiL but I can take a little more of her. Her problem was she was never told "NO" her whole life. So I make sure we don't get walked all over and love saying "NO" to stupid shit!

Love my In laws they are awesome. My grand father in law is old school italian so I can barely understand him, since im dark complexion he thinks im italian and not hispanic so he doesn't call me worthless like he does to the other hispanic guest that show up for thanksgiving. He pees outside on patio than tries to touch you, doesn't use toilet paper when he whipes and sticks his son (oxygen starved) with needles for his diabetes at dinner tables than throws needles in bushes outside, where people walk or my 10month old son crawls. So I end up cleaning up after him when we are in town.  Grand mother in law is crazy and always pissed off. My grandparents are all passed away and I would trade anything for another day with them.

Btw happy thanksgiving

Hates a powerful word, indifferent is more accurate I guess.

We just don't see eye to eye, I try to be polite but also try to avoid interaction with them.

Love them both!  They are both cool as hell!  FIL has lots of guns and loves to hunt and fish!

Does not hurt that they are millionaires either

My FIL is great.  We agree on most everything, and we can talk sports or politics for hours and never get tired of it.  We'll sit outside and smoke cigars. He likes to go shoot sometimes.
My MIL is a grade A nut job.  High maintenance, self-centered, paranoid delusional drama queen.  I do my best to tolerate her.
They're divorced and they hate each other, so that adds to the fun.  Luckily, the MIL doesn't come around much.

True arfcommers don't have inlaws, at least not for any substantial length of time.
