Today we celebrate Thanksgiving Day.
Today I am thankful for America. I am thankful that even in our times of uncertainty and worry, we live in the greatest of nations.
I am thankful that we can say what we feel and we can do what we please.
I am thankful that the world as we know it has a place to look to for defense, to look to for freedom, to look to as an example.
I, on this day, am thankful that our borders are breached by those seeking to find a better life, both within the system and outside of it.
I am thankful that we live in a land that our poorest live better than any other poor.
I am thankful that I can post this simple message to you, those who choose to read these words.
I am thankful and I am blessed to be an American, which children across the globe only wish they could be. "I'm the American this time!"
Today I am remembering the sacrifices that made this possible. Today, at least to me, is not just Thanksgiving day, but it is Memorial day, Veterans day, and it is the day to remember what made this idea, the idea of America, today.B
May we all give thanks to what we deem fit and to thanks those that challenge our Gods, and our Beliefs, and our Ideals.
Thank you.
My Thanksgiving song.
Fighting soldiers, from the sky
Fearless men, who jump and die
Men who mean, just what they say
The brave men, of the Green Beret
Silver wings, upon their chest
These are men, America's best
One hundred men, we'll test today
But only three, win the Green Beret
Trained to live, off nature's land
Trained in combat, hand to hand
Men who fight, by night and day
Courage deep, from the Green Beret
Silver wings, upon their chest
These are men, America's best
One hundred men, we'll test today
But only three, win the Green Beret
Back at home, a young wife waits
Her Green Beret, has met his fate
He has died, for those oppressed
Leaving her, this last request
Put silver wings, on my son's chest
Make him one, of America's best
He'll be a man, they'll test one day
Have him win, the Green Beret.
