yep
looks very streamlined and safe I would assume it is a recoiling barrel like most other recoil operated firearms of that era *derp* says so on the blurry picture LOL as for how it works go look up how a Barrett or Browning A-5 operates same principle |

A little googling turned up two very brief mentions, and both say it was an automatic rifle.

You know, a semi auto rifle in that caliber seems like it'd be a great gadget if you could make it reasonably priced.

That isn't something I've seen before, but it does share features with other similar conversion. It will be gas operated, with a gas port up on the front end of the barrel and an op rod coming down the side to connect to that bolt handle on the right. The original bolt handle has been cut off, and the leftover stub runs in the cam groove in the top cover. That cam allows straight rearward motion of the op rod to rotate and unlock the bolt as it opens, and then rotate is closed after chambering a new round.
It's a neat example, and it would be nice to see more and better photos of one... Ian admin, ForgottenWeapons.com |
