one one of the straps of my shoulder holster was too tight I guess and it took on some armpit BO. I have tried spraying it w/ Lysol to no effect. It is just a little musky when you pick it up and smell it, but when wearing it it starts to produce a strong musky odor that actually does not give my wife a wettie
I now put some of terry cloth and velcro baby seat belt pads over the strap and frequently change and wash those to prevent any worsening, but the funk is still there in the leather from before and still gets to smelling when I wear it. Does anyone know how to fix it w/o destroying it? It is a Galco Jackass rig, a rough unfinished type leather. Mostly just in a small area of one strap. |

BO (Barack Obama) wants all shoulder holsters to smell like him. with no gun in them ever.
on a side note Barack Obama no longer highlights on my spelling editor. so I guess he's here to stay in perpetuity.

First, soak it in a tub of cold water.
Then, transfer to a tub of bleach. ????? Buy a new holster.

Not trying to be a smartass but did you buy it used from a homeless person? I mean if wearing a leather harness too tight, unless you wore it for months in Mogadishu, put a permanent funk in the leather and overwhelms the leather smell than there's an obvious bigger problem.

was wearing over a t shirt under a blouse, I live in FL. One side was sort of tight the way I had it rigged up so I could conceal an inverted dagger in there opposite the J frame. That one spot made direct contact w/ the wet part of the underarm area of the T shirt. I do not wear antiperspirant. .

My brother in law told me that he puts his work out clothes in the freezer. I guess it cuts down on the funk.

I clean my leather car seats with 1 part vinegar and 4 parts water.
It seems to get rid of odors but I don't know if it will work on your holster strap? |

you must smell like France. I'd recommend the enzyme stuff for pet smells. I wear deoderant, which works for me, but the harness gradually got stinky. I quiered "body armor sanitizer" and found that fight soap foaming stuff. I did soak the bad aeea in a saturated baking soda solution and then let it sit in baking soda paste. It smells better but i havnt worn it yet to test it. You have to heat it up a little to see... |
