Walked past the display case at the shop and noticed this cord. As you can see from the image, electricity is leaking out of the plug-in and soaking into the wood floor.
Is it a defective flow valve in the plug, letting it leak? Over pressure in the electric systems causing the seals to fail? Is the leaked electricity a health or fire hazard? Can I tie a knot in the cord as a temp fix?  |

Peeing to cross line 1 and line 2 do you no good on a dead circuit. Plug it in and try again.

they always said electricity is like water.
nice visual proof. I think you need to go upstream, pretty sure you have a seal leaking. best way to fix it is to use acid core solder and gasgacinch. make sure you don't heat the copper up too much, just enough to get the flux going. once you're done with the fix, drop a screwdriver across all the terminals to verify goodness. post up your results. |

Put it in a bucket, see how many volts it leaks in 3 hours. If it's less than 115, you're good to go and no fix required.

looks like a 230v plug. Is the circuit breaker over sized for that cord, allowing too many volts to run through it?
