If all the parts are there then RUN, don't walk, down there and buy it. They ain't getting any cheaper and the Russkies are the nicest of all SKSs in my opinion. Just make sure it doesn't have a stupid 30-round mag or CRAPCO folding stock on it, as buying the original parts for it is expensive nowadays.

Man, I hate these threads.  They forcefully remind me of '92 or '93, I think, at a gun show, walking by a table covered in Russian SKSs, and deciding to buy ONE of them.  For $45.

Don't remind me.  We bought two Tula's (1954) in the late 90's for $99 each still in the factory cosmo wraps, brand new condition.  Should have bought the whole table.

Got my Yugo M59 for $359 and would gladly jump at a chance to get a Russian if all the parts were matching, just don't tell my Yugo I said this.

Go get it. Sounds like a good deal.

OP I've had a matching #'s Russian SKS in the C&R section of the EE for over a month for a very similar price. So far I havent even had any serious tire kickers. I'm tired of bumping the ad and getting offers of $50-$100 shipped. YMMV

I remember that too, only I never got one. It seemed like every shop had a rack or barrel full of those things back then...that you had to walk around to get to the good guns.

and here I thought all of the Chinese type 56 SKS's popping up for $250 or so recently were a good deal.

It may be because yours is at least $50.00 too high for a shipped price compaired to what you want for it FTF. Why the $75.00 difference?

I have always expected folks to make offers, not generally 1/4 or 1/8th of the original asking price. I personally dislike shipping guns. It kills at least an hour or two plus the actual shipping costs. My local FFL will ship for $75 so that's what I added

Your "very similar" price is $525.00 shipped or $450.00 FTF

$100 on a $350 dollar item isn't very close.

$75 dollars shipping charges seems a little high as well since USPS and UPS charge $20 or less.  Just shove it in a well padded box and swing by the local USPS and mail it.  Shouldn't take very long at all if you have a box and tape.  Your local FFL is raping you at $75

Lower your your price to close to $350 FTF to $375 shipped and I bet it moves pretty damn fast.
