Does anyone know what shotgun Steve McQueen used in the movie The Getaway? I've never seen it but a co-worker said that it was something special, whatever that means. [shotgun]

It wasn't a '97. It was hammerless. I think it was a Stevens or a Ithaca. Nothing special.

Speaking of McQueen and '97s...

The shotgun carried by the asassin in "Bullitt"
was a Winchester 1897 Takedown model.

Makes me want to sow some pockets inside my trenchcoat.
