They won't "ban" handguns because most of them carry or have security that carries.
What they will do is try to make them harder for everyone else to get. |

They would in an instant if they could. This, along with all gun issues, is high on their list. They are a little slow on it now because there isn't the great outcry, bleeding-heart, oh my poor crack dealing gansta "child" was killed by another "child" stories or statistcs out right now. The enemies of freedom are drippy whore's to the latest poll, and this issue isn't on the latest poll due to other issues among other factors. They continue to hate our firearems ownership, but being the baseless whores that they are, they won't go after it when they think it will cost them a vote or two. Give it time, they'll be back at it.

Try to get a permit for a handgun in LA (even after the people won a lawsuit ordering the cops to issue the licenses) or Chicago or NYC. What was it that Senator Feinstein said about "assault weapons"? The quote is something like "If I'd had the votes, I would have said 'Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em all in.'" Of course, they will not apply these laws to the police and especially to the people who guard their lives. And just as obviously the crooks are not going to pay attention to these sorts of bans. |

They want to do it slowly. I'd almost rather they did it all at one time, and quickly. That way they would get the attention and response they deserve. The way it's going, they'll erode our rights until there will be no way to stop them.
Frances, you are correct regarding Feinstinhypocrite. It was on "60 Minutes." The best parts were the moronic grin after th "and that's it" part. Proof that she didn't really care about taking them from criminals. And the creep Lesley Stahl acted like an announcer for an infomercial: "You mean you only needed a few more votes and you woulld have had them banned?" Just feeding Feinsteinhypocrite the lines. |

Why are there no mass bannings ? That is simple- because that whould cause a massive public outcry and it would fail. However if you enact de facto bans by making guns pass "safety" checks and so on, Mr and Mrs Joe Sheep do not notice what you are trying to do.
