Ah. The Winn Dixie case. Remember it well.

Old lady goes into a Winn Dixie down in Jacksonville. Slips on some grits from a sack that had fallen from the shelf. Minor cut became infected, resulting in the need for an amputation.

Doc comes in after a long night on call in the ER. Whacks off the wrong leg. Had to go back and take the bad one.

Malpractice suit ensues. In the preliminaries the judge threw her case out. Because she didn't have a.........................

I knew a guy years ago who could tell that so well and draw his audience in so completely that they were pissed when they found out it was a joke.
