I've got an 05 Access Cab Tacoma SR5/TRD Tacoma. Wife unit pushed out little Levi a month and a half ago. I'm seriously considering selling my beloved truck. how much are they worth these days? I have less than 70k on a non 4x4 truck. I was thinking some econo box or jeep. What say you guys? What could i get for it? 10k 12k? Recomendations? My wife is rocking a 00 4rnr and it is strong as that day is long. however, some days we're required to split duties and the TACO just aint cutting it anymore. I hate to get rid of it but it's almost a necessity at this point.

I don't have a cab for it. I don't think the wife would approve. I rolled around in my Dad's S10 like that when I was 9 or 10. My boys are 2 and infant sized.

Ok, a used crew cab Taco very similar to the one you have now. I imagine it might be a few extra bills. But you could save for that fairly easily. |

No 4x4 is gonna hurt when you sell. ^ Truth. I second the notion for a jump seat in the back. |

Doubt you're going to be able to get rid of it and NOT take on at least some sort of payment.
Are you looking to get out of a truck completely and get a car with a back seat for the critters? |

No 4x4 is gonna hurt when you sell. I don't see a lot of 4x2 Tacos sitting on the lots very long around here. He should be able to trade it in and get into a Pilot or RAV4 for just a couple thousand extra. |

put a jump seat in the bed, problem solved. Amazing to think that Subaru wasn't sued out of existence over those. I second all of the get a crew cab. |

Dunno the market there but if it is anything like here in California, do not trade the tacoma in.
Sell it private party, they command well above blue book here. Since they run forever, folks tend to hang onto them for a long time. Makes them pretty scarce on the secondary market. Been casually looking at 1st gen Tacoma 4x4s. Clean examples sell for well north of $10,000. That is for a 10+ year old truck. |

I know a stealership wouldn't give me anything for it and turn it around and sell it for 6k more than they gave me for it. |

Pull out the passenger seat and put both car seats on the rear bench. No more access problems and the kids have lots of room to kick their legs.

Quoted: I'm not looking for flashy. I'm looking for reliable and last till my kids won't completely trash the interior with puke, crayons and food. Since I have a three year old and a new born. Boring will be just fine for the time being. Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: No 4x4 is gonna hurt when you sell. I don't see a lot of 4x2 Tacos sitting on the lots very long around here. In the same boat. I test drive a new Taco crew cab and wasn't super impressessed. For the same price as an F150 you get a wussy engine, road noise, uncumfortable front seats, back seats that really can't accomidate adults, and a smaller bed. I really wanted to like it, I've owned 2 tacomas before, but I just can't. They're really not a family truck. I might just go with the F150 instead.

Your reasons are exactly why I sold my Ford Ranger and got a Kia Rondo. My wife had a crew cab F250, though, so we still have a pickup covered.

Yeah, I'm not entirely thrilled about getting rid of truck ability. It has come in handy so many times especially being in the military and moving around all the time. Also considering selling the thing private party and just getting an A/B car and just save money for something I really would like, a quad cab tacoma, for example. |

This spring, I sold my 2003 extended cab Taco for $9000. It was in great shape, and had about 70k miles. When my kids were toddlers, they loved to ride in the extended cab area.
But my kids grew, and got too old/big to ride inside. |
