Everyone's heard about this but how many have THOUGHT about it?  I don't think we are to the same point over here but everyone's heard the cry for slavery reparations.  Okay, here's a question: let's say we, somehow, decide to go ahead and pay every black person who wants it (some responsible onbes will decline) a sum of money to compensate them for slavery they never experienced personally.  First, I think we have tried to do so over time with our ridiculous welfare system but that is another issue.  Second, what crutch will those lazy asses be left with to excuse them from working or being civilized human beings?  They won't have the old slavery standby anymore.  Voting rights? Nope.  They will remember this kind of shit and we will be in the same mess.  I don't think any farmers here will be abandoning their homes, though.  Maybe some wine vineyard owners out in Kali but East of Napa Valley will be a whole different story.

What do you think?  I don't know the history of Zimbabwe but I suspect it doesn't matter.  How long are these farms going to survive "under new management"?  They are already feeling the effects and they're too stupid to realize it.  Survival of the fittest, IMHO.  Oh, get out your checkbooks, too, because as soon as they fuck themselves we will be required by the UN to bail them out.

Up to half of the population - six million - face starvation this year, aid agencies have warned.

BaHaHaHa...Sounds like a self correcting problem to me.

Mr Mugabe argues that the seizures will right the wrongs of British colonialism,

Oh, and by the way, ours are starting to say the same thing here.  "Some" property transfers will have to occur to "right" the wrongs of slavery.  Sure Wilbur, come and take it...if you can!

Remember!  THAT side toward enemy...

Those white farmers are SOL. A long time ago I saw an ad that said acres of land for sale, cheap, Bolivia, I could live like a king with my meager savings, investigation by myself revealed Bolivia has had coup after coup, and with each new government there is a new policy on who owns what, this has and will always be a thing that occurs, ask the American Indians,or the white African farmer.

Between the insanity over the farms and AIDS Africa may FINALLY solve it's population problem; IF we don't screw it up!

I think We should give Them reperations! The only stipulation would be that if You take them, You must return to Your Native land permenently!

Odd that those reparations would only forge the chains of modern day slavery, a.k.a. reliance on government, stronger.

But everyone wants something for nothing.  No one dances for free, and while they think they're being paid back for slavery, they're just making themselves pawns.

Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...

I simply cannot imagine what these white folks in Zimbabwe and South Africa are waiting for!

Get the Hell Out!

You don't need court orders to protect your farms. You don't need justice. You don't need just compensation for the loss of your farms and businesses.

You Just Need Luggage!

Haven't you seen the photos of the dead white folks who stayed? Haven't you heard the stories of the raped women who are told by the police to just go home and 'get over it'?

What more do you need to convince you to go?

The same place it always comes from: the news media and the "represtatives" of the black population.  Jesse, Al and the rest would love for their "constituents" to have some free money to donate to some "good causes".

The only thing I would do before leaving is  look for a means to spoil the place and deny its use by the murdering thieves.

Africa's problems will all self correct themselves via Mother Nature .Too many people , no problem, MN will take care of the problem by starvation and disease , just like AIDS ! What we are seeing today is a process of natural selection ; just like what happens in our woods when populations exceed the capacity of the woods to support the critters . No difference to me , except these are people .But they are people who MN will deal fate to because the people cannot help themselves due to political / educational /superstitions issues  beyond their control .

Or is it beyond their control ? I believe that a group of people should have the smarts to run their lives / affairs to insure their survival . Perhaps this is MN's way of ridding the gene pool . What do YOU  think?

As soon as the farmers leave, the 'scorched earth policy' will take care of itself.

Just leave it as is. Rhodesia (when it was still called that) was known as the 'bread basket of Africa.'

Now, it's just a basket case.

Aimless Said:
when the farms are stolen from the present farmers by the government do you really think that they will be given to poor local farmers or divided up between the local political suck ups/warlords.

Well that's already what's happening. I read in a UK online publication that the largest, most fertile and most valuable of all the farms are being distributed just like you described. The best of the land is going to the friends and sycophants of the head syphilitic, your "friend" and mine Poppa Doc Mugabe.

I'm curious as to why the farmers haven't gotten together, sent an emmesary to Sicily or Marselle and hired a pro to wack the bastard

Was there not a mauwi(sp) uprising that the white settlers did sucessfully resist in Africa, but that was with a white government, not racist, but sane, these people in office now are thugs with a license.

Eric,
I agree, in the face of overwhelming odds and zero hope of changing the outcome it is time to go, but
Where do they go?  We don't have room here for hard working, self-reliant folk - we're full up on illegals and gov't supported Somalians.
I must have missed the u.n. outrage on this action.
And where do we go when the gov't starts their reparations program here?  What will the land owners here do when the gov't wants to redistribute their land?

It is a sad situation, but they gave up their guns which led to giving up their rights and sometimes their life, which led to giving up their land, and now they must give up their country.  Some of these people have owned the same land for generations.

I hope we learn from their mistakes.
