I stopped at a local gas station / quicky mart
to fuel up and buy a bottle of water on the way
home today.

I was sporting my new IDF T-shirt and feeling
all warm and friendly.

Feeling a bit parched (that's Texan for

store to get a bottle of water.[;D]

When I walked to the counter to pay for my water
the lady (of Arab persuasion) began ranting in her native tongue flailing her arms about, like
wounded peacock.

She wondered off into the back room and a man
(of Arab persuasion) came out to relieve her as
if they were some well rehearsed wrestling tag
team.

This gentleman (of Arab persuasion) didn't have
much to say to me, he just gave me the "pay for
your water and get the hell out of my store" look. He kept staring a my IDF T-shirt for some
reason.

Anyway,
I smiled (very big[:d]) paid for my water and told
the gentleman (of Arab persuasion) to have a
very nice weekend.

It was the most fun I've had in months.

We've all heard it before.

I also had a quite interesting time while wearing my new IDF shirt in a 7-11.  Around here, they have these little machines on the cash registers that scroll the news.  Well, I was sitting there paying for my slurpy and malboro's when it started flashing saying "news alert".  Being a half drunk at the time, the flashing instantly got my attention and it was telling about the twin suicide bombings that happened a little while back.  I must have really offended the arab behind the counter because he threw my smokes at me and went on a barely understandable rant about how the jews deserved everything they get and they are stealing his land.  I just started laughing and told him to have a good day.  I go in there everyday and he always just gives me a really dirty look and follows me around the store.  Makes my morning!

I once wore a homemade "Remember the USS Liberty massacre!" at the local deli. A guy kept bitching about how it was an accident and so on. Then I yelled " Well, I don't recall strafing unarmed sailors in the water over and over again an accident!" Everyone in the deli looked at us and the guy left. Guess the truth hurted him.

That looks like fun.  I will have to get one and hang out at the gas station across from the Air National Guard Base.  Lots of Arabs there.  Kinda worries me.

As a non-Arab Muslim, and a bemused observer of the whole 'tiff' over there, I have to agree with Gunner, its just a tee-shirt. I think the Israelis are like Frenchmen with a serious pair of brass balls- they may be arrogant and a little too self impressed, but they didnt get this far on ass kissing and boot licking. The Palestinians are going to be a grease spot on the map of history if they dont knock it off and learn from their opponents, which seems impossible for that fat camels ass Arafat. He's responcible for more of his own peoples deaths than any Israeli general.

Oh, and I do own an SS uniform and I bought it from a Russian Jew who later moved to Israel and loads bombs on IAF airplanes. I'm married to his sister. And I have many IDF 'things', including  a tee-shirt just like that one signed by a couple Merkava tank crews who visited with my National Guard unit a few years back. I dont wear it to Masjid (mosque for all you non-hackers) though.

My comparison of the SS and KKK to the IDF comes from the fact every time the Nazi's where attacked by rebel forces their response was to send in tanks and attack airplanes into the region and killing civilians. For those of you who couldn't see the link, well your the same people who can't get your brains completely around the entire middle east issue, but than again, the Nazi's didn’t have the PR machine that Israel has.

    You really are a damn idiot.  Why are you even on this board?  Your just as stupid as any other liberal in thinking that the Civil War was completely over slavery, when it fact it was about the Souths right to live they way they had to at the time.  Remember, the northern part of the country had slaves too.  Slavery was a necessity in that day and age and was used by nearly all societies at one time or another.  Also, we didn't figure out slavery was wrong it just died out over time with the introduction of inventions that made it obsolete.  If there were a better way of doing things than having to deal with slaves then it would have been done.  Also, your support for the so called "poor" Palestinians is ridiculous.  They are a people who live on killing and have been kicked out of every place they have ever been because of it.  The terrorist who continue to get their own people killed will do so forever regardless of how they live, as they care nothing of themselves or they innocent people around them.

A couple points of history in America...

The American Civil War (War of Northern Aggression for our Southern friends) had little to nothing to do with actual slavery.  While it is true that the American Civil War could have been partially or totally avoided through the use of economic means, the principal bone of contention was over the right of one or more of the Several States to secede from the Union.  Due to the outcome of the American Civil War, we now refer to the United States as "one Nation, indivisible..."  Granted, I wouldn't mind letting Texas secede, and therefore allow it free reign to conquer and annex Mexico as a whole.  Texas could then rejoin the union.  BTW - IIRC, Texas is the only section of the United States that was an independent political entity BEFORE it was included into the Union - someone please correct me if I am wrong.

People often talk of slavery as if it is wholly America's fault.  Remember your market forces - there must be a supply for there to be a demand.  While it is possible for a supply to be created in response to a demand, refusal to create the supply can cause a shift or an elimination of the demand in question.  Africans became slaves because AFRICANS sold them into slavery.  It's not just us, you know.  
Besides, if America is entirely responsible for the slave trade, explain the Sudan.  The largest slave trader on the planet, the Sudan was picked to replace the United States on the UN Human Rights Commission after the ouster of the US.  Yeah, blame us.

The American Revolution was not simply fought over taxation.  The American Revolution was fought, ultimately, over taxation enacted UPON the colonies, while the colonies did not enjoy the Parliamentary representation that the Britons who remained at home had.  Perhaps you missed the rallying cry of the Boston Tea Party - "No Taxation Without Representation!"  Or did they not print the last half?
It is also instructive to note that, again, this was a war that could have been averted by other means.  Had King James allowed the colonies representation in the House of Lords and the House of Commons, the US could possibly still be colonies of the Crown.  Yeah, we have our taxes now, but at least the damn fools that voted these taxes into being are on OUR side of the puddle, and where we can get at them!  We're working on it...

The Canadian Dollar and the US Dollar are essentially apples and oranges.  Remember what happened when the Yen was revauled a few years ago?  What is to prevent us from doing the same thing?  Besides, the principal problem with our economy as of now is the removal of the specie standard, casting the dollar adrift in the world market.  There is nothing to "hitch our wagon to," so the dollar is a floating currency (much like the Euro.)  It has no intrinsic value, and hasn't since the Silver and Gold Certificates failed of issue.  I would happily back a return to the Gold standard - or perhaps a reissue of monetary units in ACTUAL Gold or Silver!  A man can dream...  Tell me, upon what is the Canadian dollar based?  Just for fun, can you tell me from which language the word "dollar" has been corrupted, co-opted, and borrowed?  It doesn't belong to either one of us.  Bonus marks for a correct ORIGINAL spelling.

How long did it take us AFTER the American Civil War to figure out slavery was wrong?  We figured it out before the Civil War - else we would not have had it.  Granted, slavery was not the central issue of the war - but it was a major contributing factor.  We were figuring out it was wrong as early as 1820 - as the Underground Railroad had begun about that time.  Like all ideas, it took time to gain general circulation.
