Has anyone seen the previews for this movie?  This is my type of movie.  It comes out next weekend.  Lots and lots of guns, at least in the preview.

Don't be mislead by the title, it has nothing to do with porn.

Here's the preview.

Check out the bridge in the pic's. A convict tried to base jump off it yesterday without a chute. You can jump off this bridge, have sex, read the Sunday NY Times, and eat two sammiches before you hit the ground...!

AUBURN, Calif. (AP) - A man fell to his death from the Foresthill Bridge following a pursuit by the Placer County Sheriff's Department Thursday morning.

The chase began when police noticed a suspicious man near a vehicle and then confirmed he was driving a stolen pickup. The man was recently released from prison for carjacking and was on parole, Capt. Rick Armstrong said.

Police pursued the man on Interstate 80 to the Foresthill Bridge where the driver then ran to the center of the bridge and jumped over the wall, falling to his death.

Armstrong said the fall victim may have tried to jump onto a steel girder but fell in his attempt.

"We are investigating whether it was a suicide or not, but we'll never know," Armstrong said. "We think he was just trying to run from us. We're just calling it a death by fall."

The man's identity will be released after the family is notified.

I live near the bridge. When they filmed that scene several news crews got it on tape also. Various shots of the stunt man jumping from the car and parachuting down. Pretty cool stunt. The car was definitely toast. It's over 1000 feet from the bridge to the bottom of the ravine in the center.

Know what you mean. I mean get a real engine to soup up instead of that lawn mower motor. Driving up from San Antonio last Mon. there was this Prelude lowered with one of them big ole exhaust that makes em sound like a loud fart coming up fast on I35. Pulls up behind me and then tries to pass my Camaro. Needless to say he had no chance to do so. Although he kept trying. I think we got up to about 100MPH in some spots.

Now back to topic:

Planning on seeing this flick. XXX should be pretty awesome. They are billing it as a James Bond flick with an extreme edge for the new millenum. Oughta be awesome!!!

heheh TF&TF

NOx blows out a floorpan...

NOS (car part company, pronounced 'naws') pays big money to have Nitrous Oxide referred to as 'naws' (they make kits).

A '10 second car' (yeah, right, with a tomahawk strapped to the roof & a tail wind, maybe) takes over a minute to run a 1/4 mile.

Guys with MAC-10s blow up a car (talk about a potent 9mm round??).

Guys with MAC-10s can hit the broad side of a barn firing full-auto from a moving motorcycle.

Someone ACTUALLY tries to race a VW Jetta *Wagon*!!!

P.S. I hate riced up cars too...

(if you don't know what he was referring to, the term 'ricer' refers to the driver of a noxiously over-modified (but still slow compared to a Firebird/Camaro, Mustang, or purpose-built import sportscar) Japanese subcompact car (Honda Civics seem popular). Usually this consists of a 'Coffee Can' 4in muffler on stock 1.5in exhaust, 'racing stickers' ("1320 Motorsports", Asian characters the driver can't read, etc), 200lbs of audio gear (usually with a stereo that puts out more watts than the car does Hp), and a driver who thinks he's the fastest thing since Mario Andretti. Differentiated from the 'Import car guy' or 'muscle car guy' with an actually fast, tuned car with modifications that contribute to something more than how much noise his ride makes.

Short form: A real PITA. They also seem to be prone to road-rage... Go figure...

Hey don't slam to hard on the four cylinder racers, I have a Capri that has been tweaked and its puny 1.6L turns out 350 bhp, that's on a 1600 lb car, you do the math.

It was track tested, before I picked it up, at 11.3 in the quarter but the best I'm getting is 13.6 but hey I'm no pro.

Jake

edit: "Yeah, it's bottle fed."

I don't know, my Civic will beat my old bosses Mustang in the quarter, and he is pulling 12 second quarters. I hold the turns better too. I find it takes less for me to make my Jap car take more boost than a mustang or Camaro. I did up a Camaro a couple years ago, it was fast, but the frame twisted, T- Top [:(]  I liked that car. Traded it for ammo and a couple rifles

c'est la vie  I guess

Reminds me of a grease gun (and not the WW2 kind). Maybe this is Vin diesel preparing for his future job at a jiffy lube:

Christ, this movie will be even more retared than the Fast and the Furry.
You guys would pay to watch this shit?
The Fast and the Furry was nothing but a rip-off of Point Break, now I wonder what this latest piece of crap will be a rip-off of.

And he talks about his dad coming out of a turn..........

Yes, TF&F went a long way toward making me hate Diesel too.  But at least he himself was still halfway cool.  This xXx movie looks pretty gay though, I'll see it probably though just to give it a shot.  Hopefully Pitch Black 2 will be good either way...

I hate ricers as well, I don't know when (or how) slow ass econo pieces of shit like civics and such became cool.  I mean WTF...  Get a real car for crying out loud, there were/are true Jap performance cars if a Mustang/Camaro/Firebird or similar doesn't float your boat.  A Supra TT, 300ZX Turbo, RX7 turbo, etc, etc.  All nice, true performance cars.  But a Civic!?!?!  For crying out loud, that's just DAMN SAD...

I really did like the Charger in the F&F. Made me cry to watch it get destroyed. Kinda weird how in the F&F, the japanese car was supposed to be a 10 second car, but the Charger was supposed to be his dad's "9" second car and yet they were neck and neck throughout the race

He did a good job in Saving Private Ryan.

Tell you what though, the chicks dig him.

"I don't know when (or how) slow ass econo pieces of shit like civics and such became cool."

Lots of suburbanite kids with cars bought for them by mommy and daddy's who desperately want to appear cool created a market to supply them with asian stickers, coffee can exausts, and 2ft tall F1 alloy spoilers. Who knew adding a coffee can and stickers alone could add 100HP and in an instant make you a badass?!?

Just remember the ricer logic with spoilers: Downforce on the rear of a front-wheel drive car is good.

When Detroit quit making fast cars and made Cameros and Mustangs too much money for most teenagers to afford new and when all of the "good" muscle cars have become overpriced POS or are really something special and they still can't afford them.

Hotrodding is hotrodding, no matter if you took a 1968 POS 6 banger Camero and dropped a 350 in it with cherry bombs in 1978 or if you take a 1992 Honda Accord and put a blatt-blatt pipe, K&N filter charger and intake kit and a engine management chip in it in 2002.

Yes, most of the rice burners are POS, there are some really nice ones that are damn fast.

They became "cool" just like any other type of hotrod, someone figured out how to get more HP out of it when it was stock, someone else wanted it, someone filled the void in the market, parts became cheap and there you have it.

There are only so many 1968 SS Cameros out there.
