Phone disconnected a week ago as landlady hadn't paid bill in 2 months.

Gas disconnected day before yesterday as landlady hadn't paid bill in 4 months.

Called bank to see why I had a service charge for an NSF check, when I had the money in the bank, and the fee would cause another check to bounce. They said it was an error, and would correct it with a refund. Unfortunately, as the refund would not be credited until Monday, I had to run to the bank (literally) to make a deposit to keep the second check from going BOING.

On the way walking back to the office, I get clipped by a Jeep coming fast out of an alley. No injuries, but let's just say this hasn't been my week.

I'm having a better week than some, though.

Just trying to keep a sense of humor about it.

Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that the landlady won't be able to come up with the money to get the gas turned back on until next Friday.

I have gas heat, water heater, and stove.

All I need is to find out she hasn't paid the electric, either. Then I WILL be back in the Stone Age...

Everybody has weeks like that.. I find that they're usually folowed up by a pretty good one if you keep a good outlook.

You might want to look at some options dealing with your landlady, though. [smash]

Sounds like it's time to move Ken. I would think losing all your utilities would forgo the months notice that you are moving. I would think by not paying her bills and having the gas,etc shut off she is breaking your lease. Renting [b]sucks[/b]!!!

Yeah. I know renting sucks. This gal's a friend of a dear friend, but I'm looking for other places to live. OH YEAH! I forgot! Monday, I found that the place that had offered me a $52K Linux Network Engineer job went out of business, so it looks like I'll be temping after this assignment's over.

At least my girlfriend doesn't have to work (on disability, though pretty functional[;D])so my options are pretty much wide open...

hey KPEL: if you were a ny liberal you could sue her for reimburstment of your rent. do to the fact you paid your rent on time,but she as not supplied the formentioned product you paid& are intitled to(rent=room,water,heat,eletric) if they are included on the lease.

negligence is on her behalf & would be easy to prove with a copy of the lease w/ your cashed rent checks. the utilities company can even provide documents as to when & why such services were shut off.
