That is an excellent article.  It's good to see something like this published in a women's forum.  I wish every "soccer mom" in the world would pull their head out long enough to read this.

me too.  but along with the naivete that comes with believing in an unfailing 9-1-1 system is the craziness of the "it won't happen to me" mindset.  

while most women would say they don't believe that, if they took a good hard look at the actions, they'd come to realize that their very lifestyle is dependent on believing that.

i mean, how many people could walk outside their house without carrying if they didn't think it wouldn't happen to them?  they can't always get to a phone to call 9-1-1, even their own cell phone.

even when i'm carrying i'm concerned about not being able to get to it in time to thwart the attacker.
