ARIZONA DAILY STAR

A U.S. Border Patrol agent exchanged fire with a gunman Saturday in
the same area where an agent was fired upon two months ago.

A Border Patrol spokesman, Ryan Scudder, confirmed the Saturday
incident but provided few details, deferring to the investigating
agencies.

Scudder said the agent fired on someone during the incident and that
the agent was fired upon. No one was hit during the exchange, which
took place near Papago Farms, a village in the southwestern Tohono
O'odham Nation.

The agent and gunman were both north of the U.S.-Mexican border,
Scudder said.

The Tohono O'odham police conducted an initial investigation of the
incident, then turned the case over to the FBI.

On May 17, a Border Patrol agent working near Papago Farms reported
being fired upon by Mexican soldiers in a military vehicle. The
Mexican government denied there were any soldiers in the area.

That shooting came a few hours after a pair of incidents in the same
area: A Tohono O'odham police ranger reported being chased by Mexican
soldiers, and U.S. Customs Service agents seizing a ton of marijuana.

I think that I am finally realizing that the Mexican Border Agents/Police have been paid off big time to help ship drugs into the United States.  It is apparent that the Mexican Governments powers of law enforcement stop right outside Mexico city.

EDITED TO ADD:
They must be getting desperate because they are
having to restort to Violence to get the shipments across the border. That must mean that either they get the drugs across of they themselves get whacked or turned into the Mexican Authorities by the drug cartels themselves.

Can anyone say, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Africa, etc ----> South America ---> Columbia, Peru, Up through Mexico and into the US. Duh, I havn't really ever given that much thought to this.

Sounds screwed up to me.

Too expensive.

Bounding Anti-Personnel Mines would be much more effective.

Unfortunately, the ranchers in the area would protest the effect those mines would have on their cattle.

Sounds to me like a Border Patrol Agent needs to be ordered to the range for additional training!  I don't think cops need to shoot people in the back or anything like that but when someone FIRES AT A COP, that person should be SHOT fatally!  See if the Mexicans can lie their way out of it then!!

This happens a whole lot more than it gets reported. Hell, down here they are more concerned about putting out "rest stations" with food, water and maps to help the illegals on their journey. The border patrol is WAY understaffed and morale is low and the only solutions the politicians can come up with are those which benefit the damn illegals. Our porous borders will be our undoing.

I'm in the process of joining the US Border Patrol right now.  BPA have access to a M16, MP5, or a Wilson Combat 870 anytime they want.  They just have to check it out at the beginning of their shift.  I just wish they could use some of the surplus M14's that are floating around out there...[:(]

Mex Mil uses HK 91s.  Papago Farms buildings are about seven kilometers from the border.  Mex mil frequently penetrate the border at Menagers Dam/Ali Chuk and San Miguel Gate along the reservation.  I briefly spoke with a Customs Agent that took a pistol round to the chest at San Miguel about two years ago.  He was not seriously injured, but highly irate.

Easy solution:

Make the first 500 yards inside the border a military firing range. Fly KC-135's and randomly light-up the range with some mini-gun action.

Isn't a KC-135 a tanker? maybe you're thinking of something else like an AC-130 gunship?

The Border Patrol is well-known in law enforcement circles to be almost as corrupt as the Federalis.  The Mexicans probably only shoot at the guys who aren't helping them smuggle in illegals and drugs.

A nice 50 cal machine gun mounted on the roof of their SUV's should provide some good "reach out and touch em" protection as well as the ability to take out the vehicles if proof of an illegal incursion is in question.

This is bullshit.I can't understand why our government lets this go on and on.

If mexican gi's are shooting at US agents with automatic weapons and chasing them around in Humvees,IMO the Border patrol needs something alittle more persuasive to get there attention.Say some LAWS or rifle fired grenades.

Whats gonna happen when a couple of our guys get shot dead by their guys?Nothing?!

Whoa.  What "Law Enforcement Circles" would that be?  To be sure, there have been bad agents, but they are a mere handful and don't represent the Patrol.  I work with USBP on a daily basis (over twelve years) and my personal observations are that the line agent gets shit on a lot and gets very little thanks for a thankless but necessary task.  There is a very aggressive internal affairs effort in place to detect and root out corruption in federal agencies that operate in the border areas.

Sounds like a place to hold the next "BRC".  Wonder how they would respond to 2,000 people sitting on their border armed with the Black Rifle. [50]

If anything, I think you understate the situation! Example:

Two or three years ago, the police chiefs from a number of Mexican states were invited to meet with U.S. officials at an anti-drug convention held on the U.S. side of the border – I cannot remember where.

When security tapes were reviewed, they revealed that most of the Mexican police chiefs arrived vehicles that had been stolen from U.S. citizens in Mexico – they hadn't even bothered to change the plates!

It's probably a diversionary tactic by the Mexicans, they cause the BP to shift their resources to the location where the shooting  takes place and down the line they smuggle in drugs or illegals.

Half of our "Gov't" is DEMOCRATS, and about a half of the remaining are RINO-DEMOCRATS.

Democrats are bought and paid for by Blacks, Mexicans, Women and Homosexuals.

So it's like this:

Democrats don't want IDs required to vote - that discriminates against illegal aliens from Mexico who overwhelmingly end up voting for Democrats.

Democrats don't want English-only ballots - that discriminates against most Mexican immigrants who overwhelmingly end up voting for Democrats.

Democrats don't want English-only taught in schools - that discriminates against the thousands of illiterate Mexicans crossing our border every day and every night.

Democrats don't want to cut welfare for illegal aliens - that discriminates against illegal aliens from Mexicans.

Democrats don't want to militarize the southern border - that will stop the illegal flood of THOUSANDS of new DEMOCRATIC VOTERS into this country every f@cking day from Mexico.

So two-thirds of our Gov't (the Dems and the Rinos) is DEPENDING on this DAILY flood of thousands of Mexicans into our country to keep getting these liberal/socialist Democrats elected year after year.
