Actually, if you pulled the T handles for the APU, left engine and right engine in that order, you would suceed only in shutting down the fuel to those areas and selecting the right engine for the fire extinguisher to discharge into. When there is a fire in one of those areas, the respective T handle will light up to indicate a fire. By pulling on that handle, you shut the fuel off to that component and arm the fire system. You then flip the little switch on the far right marked "FIRE EXTING DISCH" to the left then right to discharge the 2 fire bottles. If you want to start the thing, you have to use the controls on the left and right arm panels.

I had a chance to sit in the cockpit of an F-15E, and I gotta hand it to the pilots.....I'd never even begin to figure out all the switches, dials, screens, etc.

DVDTracker, did you get to fly it to Afghanistan and accidently drop a bomb on some Canadians?

If he had your address it wouldn't have been an accident dude. Must be nice to sit there and second guess something like that. Why don't you count our losses for the past one hundred years in combat saving the world's ass vs. the Canadian "war efforts". Then post how lopsided it is. And why did I just waste my time with this?????

Had we blown up your people wouldn't you second guess or even ask questions? Ofcourse not.

Instead lets count how many of our men saved American lives in Afghanistan compared to how many Canadian in Afghanistan have been killed by US "unfriendly fire".

Or even better, lets count how many millions of dollars are spent on Canada and Israel to fund militaries and how much of that money actually came back to help Americans in the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan.

Or how about this, how many people the US saved VS how many innocent people killed in WW1, WW2, Vietnam, Desert Storm, etc...

And why did I just waste my time with this?????

Why did I just waste my time responding to you only to be faced with more people of your caliber.

Gotta love the A-10's. Nothing in our inventory can match it in the role of close air support (well, the AC-130 is pretty damn sweet) and it's an enemy tank crews worst nightmare. I hate to see this plane phased out of service. While some of the new, fast jets are nice to say the least, for the type of work the A-10 is capable of doing, I don't see how they can be as good. The A-10 is tough as nails, has an armored cockpit to protect the pilot, can take a crap load of battle damage and make it home and can fly low and slow enough to pick out and destroy things that the really fast movers might miss. Whether packing a full load of Mavericks or CBU's and with that massive 30mm gatling gun, this is definately a plane I want on my side!

>>>>>>>>>Oh, and BTW, did anyone notice that top pic? An American eagle, with the words "let's roll"? Sounds like a tribute to the heroes of Flight 93 to me. Nice touch.

Cool. I went to school with a guy who was training to be an A-10 pilot. I wonder if he ever made it?

My college roommate is an A-10 pilot in Tucson.  He was the first plane on site when those two crashed last year and coordinated the rescue efforts.  Those pics make me want to go see him.  Nice job DVDTracker.
