Here I just copied Spikers post there...
posted 07-27-2002 07:06 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 2002 Commonwealth Games are being held in Manchester England from July 25 to August 4. Over this period the Holden NZ website is recording votes for the "most deserving" NZ athlete. The winner receives a new car. NZ has a team of 21 shooters and every one of them is a deserving athlete, but unfortunately they are not regarded by the media as glamour athletes, so wouldn`t it be a suprise if a shooter polled well! This dream could come true if you and other shooters worldwide voted for one member of the NZ Shooting Team. A group of five respected NZ shooters who compete in the major disciplines have taken part in a random draw to choose a nominee. The lucky shooter is Sean McCabe who is competing in the Smallbore 50m Rifle Prone competition. 2002 will be Sean's first appearance at a Commonwealth Games. He has been representing New Zealand for the last seven years and scored an Oceania record in 2001. Sean shoots for the Ardmore and Howick Rifle Clubs. If you would like to help raise the profile of NZ shooting sport go to www.holden.co.nz click on the green voting box, search under S or M for Sean McCabe or click on his name beside the graph & go to his profile and vote. Remember, vote early, vote often! Thanks for your time. -------------------- Spiker http://spiker.gunsnet.net |

He just moved into 9th place! GUN OWNERS OF THE WORLD UNITE!!!!! |
This is working!!
He has moved to 7th place!!!! Here is a direct link to the vote page. http://www.incubator.co.nz/holdenpromotion/voteonly/profile.asp?id=05A31BE6-8327-11D6-A9D4-0000F822853E&sport=&searchtxt=M |
Voted, he was still in 7th place. Have any of you techi-types checked to see if you can vote again by deleting your cookie files?
Damn but who the hell is voting for that swimmer chick!!??
She is over 2500 votes!!! Our guy is in the 900's |
one more here. I think we crashed the site:) Holden Cruz page won't appear after I submitted.
The site still seems to work for me....
I had hoped that we would be doing better. Mind you we have until Aug 5th to pull this off. |
I tried deleting my cookies and clearing my internet history files but as far as I can tell voting again does not up the count.
I am going to e-mail all my friends and ask them to first, vote, and second, send a request to do likewise to all their friends. |
If you click on "votes" you can see that Sean has the most momentum.....
Spread the work near and far....we can do this!! |
6th place and Sean seems to be cutting the span between him and the chick in 1st.
Can anyone post this on any European boards??? |
Thanks for your help with this people.
When I 1st posted this on a few boards less than 2 days ago he was in 10th place & is now closing in on 4th thanks to your help. It's not just about winning a car, it's about raising the profile of all shooting sports in New Zealand. Cheer's, Spiker |
The last two Olympic Summer Games all the shooting sports combined got aproximately ZERO tv coverage. This is about showing people we exist. Make your votes, spread the word.
]This topic needs a tack!![ |
Damn he is losing ground!!!
He is now 100 votes out of 4th!! This afternoon it was only 45!!! Lets go!!!! |
You said we could vote every day,so this is my secound vote.

5th place, on the way up quickly, but still down by a good number of votes, maybee it was just a coincidence but I hit the back button after I stopped the Holden home page from opening completely, and went to vote again. The vote count went up each time by one. I tried it four times and it seemed to work, but it could have been by chance that someone else voted by the time the pages loaded on my 56k machine making it appear to be my vote again. I'll vote each day untill it's over.
Voted, once a day. Sometimes twice. You have to delete your cookies, and clear your history files along with the temp. internet files. Do that and you can vote as often as you like.
He has moved into 4th place but is some 800 votes behind 3rd...
Did someone say COOKIES??? Hmmmm |
Will all the BTTing I thought I should insert a new link for those that have last post anchors...
http://makeashorterlink.com/?U1B851F51 Sean is well into fouth place but still needs over 1000 votes to get to second and put shooting in the spotlight!! |
I love seeing ar15.com slam online polls. We still need more firepower to get him that car though.
I have running threads on Glocktalk ( even though I do not own one), Here at AR15.com, Canadian Gun Nutz, Thefiringline ( where one poster did not want to taint the integrity of the contest by voting????)
Spiker is keeping a thread going at FA as well as Assweb ( I am banned there)and 1911.com. That is about all the boards I know of. If anyone wants to spread the word it would be great. Or just point me in the right direction. I am somewhat disappointed that we have not taken the lead so far and are being beaten by a swimmer!!! Mind you she does have a dutch name so she cannot be halp bad! |
Done....done...then done again...then again....then done..[:D]
