I've got a DPMS 20" HBAR postban barrel.

Does it have a .223 or a 5.56 chamber?

If it is .223, what would happen if I used 5.56 in it, for an extended period?

Thanks

Email Jared at DPMS, he's in the Industry Forum's and in the LEGP Forum. He can tell you exactly.

No problem shooting 5.56 NATO ammo.  I have shot  mil-spec ammo in all of my AR variant rifles, including some late 1980's Olympic Arms bbls (20" Heavy "service match" and 16" heavy, both Stainless).

I have never seen anyone else have problems with 5.56 NATO ammo, either.

And your DPMS bbl is chambered for 5.56.

Depends on when it was made. E-mail like BB said. 5.56 doesn't work well in a .223 chamber.

It's a recent barrel...

I really hope it's 5.56..
