Approx 15 min ago a learjet was forced to land at Stellar Airpark about a mile away from my house! What woke me up was the tearing sound of a bunch of F-16's!! Last time I heard that was at an Airshow these guys were low! 1 Was tailing the Lear from a few hundred feet, these guys were low enough for us to  see the landing gear of the F-16 behind him.

So should I run down to the Airpark and start shooting at the Lear with my Ar15?

Ok got close enough to see the Airpark, lots O police on scene and a few news choppers. Didnt want to get any closer and have to explain why im wearing a Glock and have an AR and 12ga in the back. According to the news it was some prop job that a student was flying and accidently gave the "We have been Hijacked" secret code.

Dude, I work at Chandler Blvd. and I-10. We heard them come over and I first we thought it was thunder. When they got a little closer, we realized it was aircraft. How many were there??

So was this a jet or a prop plane then?

According to the news it was a prop plane. I think what I saw was a Lear being escorted out of the area. How many F-16's? I have no idea atleast 2 or 3. So much air traffic its hard to count when they come in and out of view.

i believe 7700 is standard inflight emergency or mech difficulty
7500 is hijack type emerg. could be wrong, it's been a while.

Well at least you weren't as dumb as the idiot on the east coast who thought the terrorists had come in a chopper and opened up with his AR-15!!!
I seen that here last week, what a Dumbass!

If I rememebr correctly you don't even want to scroll past through these freqs when changing the transponder freq. Example going from 7400 to 7800, you would first change the first number to 6 or 8, then set the second number to 8, and then set the first number back to 7.

Well, if this is the case, this moron definately deserves a love letter from the FAA. You don't just "accidentally" squack "7500" or anything in the "7000s" for that matter. You have to be quite an idiot to accomplish that one. Especially if this guy was flying a more advanced aircraft. ATC will not give you a squak code anywhere near these emergency codes to avoid mistakes like these.

I take it that guy couldn't aim very well. Must have been one of those standard inaccurate AR15s you always hear about.

I betcha he was suprised.

"Tally Ho , Bogey two miles angels 5 bearing 170."
"Roger control, 750knots indicated Rider1/6 Enroute"
"Rider 1/6, RayGun bullseye 170 for 2"

That could have been that guys worst day ever.
