"On a dusty, hot hilltop in Afghanistan in May a group of British and U.S. Marines came under fire from suspected al Qaida militants and they returned fire. The American M-16s fired perfectly, the British Marines' SA-80 A2s didn't, suffering several stoppages."
My AR really is reliable! (They didn't have to tell me that anyway. In my informal test, 800+rounds w/o cleaning and no stoppages yet. Starting to get a little iffy on accuracy though)
Amazing that the bureaucraps can't let it go and acknowledge that the SA-80 is a failure. They keep dumping more money into this thing just to prove their initial decision to adopt it wasn't wrong.
It's like re-engineering and rebuilding a Yugo until its reliable when you simply could have bought a reliable Toyota in the first place.
Or, when you first realized the Yugo was crap, cut your losses, dumped the Yugo, and then bought a Toyota. You'd stil be ahead. Sheesh!
