Oh, like wearing a firearms shirt in Conyers is going to distinguish us from the local yokels, huh? Riiiiiiiiight. [;D]
I'll be there. Look for a silver Ford Taurus with Gwinnett plates, and that'll be me. ...or the 6'6" young bald guy. the_reject |

Right now I'm planning on being at CE around 10:00!
Is that still the time? |

Sweep, Just checked the Ga DNR web site for any info they might have on the range. They do not list a Charlie Elliot Range. ????? Might it be shown under another name?

View Quote No, I haven't been able to find a web link either, but I have been to the range several times. Things to consider, no full auto and if you get caught without eye or ear protection it's a fine, I think someone told me it was a $80 fine. There's a 100 yd range and a pistol range. |

I think you can bring some big pieces of carboard for the stands at 100yds, but you'll need your own stands if you want to do some close up shooting. I've found that a cardboard box make a good target stand.
Also, I have a few old ammo cans I bring for brass clean up, but I'm thinking we might need some 5 gallon bucket! I'll bring a few of them too. One last thing, I have a lot of factory loaded ammo that I don't shoot anymore. Any one that runs low is more than welcome to it. But I have to tell you, the reason you're welcome to it is because I don't care if you shoot it...in your gun.[:D] |

the easiest thing for a target stand at this place is to pull up one of those real estate signs that are all over the place. everyone uses those things there. just step on them and they go into the ground.
on the ranges, there are pipes in the ground. roughly 1" in diameter. 2 pipes for each bench. on the 100yd range, the pipes are every 25yds. on the 50yd range, about every 15yds in think. jeff |

I left it with the possiblity of maybe inviting him to our shoot to get a different perspective of this rifle and the people that own them. I gave him no details of when and where. I forwarded my e-mail to Sweep for him to peruse and also wanted you guys to read the article and let me know if you would want to bother to try and educate this guy if he is willing to come. I won't give him a final invitation unless you guys want him to come. |

However my first response is that this is a first get together for all of us I believe. Don't think I've met any of you guys. I've been to these things where even though we keep it extremely moderate, we've upset some hunters just by our presence. Hate to see the reporter start interviewing them instead of us. Maybe by that time we'll should know enough about each other and can work on the guy as a team.[:D] |

Going to bring the new M4gery, which has only been fired about 60 rds at 25 yds, for prelim sightin. Also going to bring out the Air Force .22 unit to see how it does in a 1/9 twist barrel. Has always been quite accurate in the 1/12 CAR. May also throw the .308 Valmet in the car, tho I'll probably only drag it out if I get bored w/the AR.
