maybe you can stick the computer CRT face to face against the television and hit the DG button.

use a hoop slightly larger than the picture screen (if 19" use 21" dia.) spiral wrap it in copper wire and connect each end to a 6volt lantern battery and wave it in front of the picture tube. or take it to a tv repair shop, should take about 30 sec. and $5

A lot of TV's have a degaussing circuit built in. You need to turn the TV off for a while and turn it back on. If that doesn't work then a local TV repair shop ought to have a Degaussing coil.

Unplug the TV for a while. If you have one of the 'instant on' TV's, the degauss circuitry may not activate unless the power is disrupted for a few minutes.
