This behaivior is generally acceptable if the following conditions are met:
1. The user being insulted has at least half a brain. 2. Somewhere in that half of a brain, the humor section is working. 3. The name calling was done in a humorous or joking manner. 4. No commie pinko dildo eating socialist uneducated laggards read said thread and feel insulted by it. Clear? (oops, forgot to add uneducated the first time around) |

im ok with most of it. socialist, even uneducated laggard ha ha, but i truly think that dildo and ban him from the board is a little much , and a little more personal than the rest, i appreciate that one staff member has made his point on the subject but as for taking it up via email with someone,i believe i have just as much of a right to waste bandwidth with this thread as the person or persons that have had the slandering remarks aimed at me with there thread!

As a Moderator on the General Discussion Forum, I am not precisely certain just where a permitted joke/comment/quip/bon mot ends and a personal attack begins, but, after having done this for about a year, I believe I know what a personal attack looks like.
It is an attack that is not obviously done in a joking manner and surpasses any previous remarks that the intended victim has already made against the attacking party. It is unwarranted, unnecessary, and serves no special entertainment value whatsoever! It is the last refuge of someone who has so lost an argument or a particular point in some discussion or argument that he or she has nowhere to go, but for the jugular. In other words, I know 'em when I see 'em. The only exception that I know of is when you personally attack me! I have the thickest skin in the animal kingdom, and pride myself on being able to bear up under any kind of attack. Rational or otherwise!
