Shame to ruin a good book that way.

Just turned it on....weird. Killing bugs....with what gun is that? Whatever it is...it has a 10,000 round magazine. Or at least it sounds like it. They're shooting infinite rounds.[50] Gotta love Hollywood guns though [:D]

NO!  The movie blows dead bears.  A great book and they turn it into a cartoon.

My thoughts exactly. What a way to turn a decent book into a really crap ass hollyweird summer celluloid plop. The Stupid schnuck who made Robocop made that movie... sorry bud, the humor thing worked for Robocop 1 but none of the other sad sequels or Starship Poopers.

The movie sexually pleasures small sheep and goats... 'nuff said.

I have a normal sex drive, but th pretty girls part is what helped ruin the movie. If he had been humping Diz in the book, he would have been hanged for homosexuality.

I know at least two reasons to watch...

I watched the DVD with the director's commentary by Paul Verhoven.  He talks about how he meant the movie as a satire on what the origional book was about.  Typical leftist european.  I love the movie anyhow though.  Just have to accept it as something separate from the book.

Mini-14 in one of those cheesy plastic bulpup stocks with an M-60 flash suppresor thrown on for good measure. Some of them also had and 870 straped under the barrel. There is one scene that shows a close up of the action spitting out brass.

Yeah, but on TV they cut the nude scenes, dammit.  And the movie did suck.

The movie sucks. Doogie Howser as a militree leader? He reminded me of the nebbish SS agent in raiders of the lost ark.

Although the appearance of Dina Meyer is enough to keep me flipping back and forth until the scene where she dies. Supposedly she's going to be on a new series called 'birds of prey'...

C'mon, the movie was great.  It totally makes way too much fun of itself, 2 hot chicks, corny line, and guns, nukes, and spaceships.  What's not to like.

It's a classic.

i liked/like it! fun movie.  how many movies can you name that did justice to the book?
i loved the babes!
i did not like the effectiveness of their rifle on the bugs.  they should have consulted ORKIN, or TERMINIX, or at least RAID.
did i mention the babes? carmen and diz...WOW!!!

Great book.  One of the best ever written.

Semi entertaining movie that missed the point of the book by a mile.

Great Babes in the movie.  We didn't have showers like that at Ft. Jackson in 1966.

Best line of the book.  "I get nervous before a jump".
