Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Whats wrong with my ISP?

Is it normal for my ISP (ATT Worldnet) to disconnect me when the website I am surfing is unavailable? I would be happy to wait, it just pisses me off I have to reconnect all the time.
I have tried other ISP's and its always the same. When the net is busy I get disconnected. I can live with waiting, just not reconnecting.AR15.com is usually god, but lately its getting me kicked off.
Sorry, I cannot get cable or DSL.
Any help? Please!

Don't know. By any chance have you ever loaded AOL? I desperately want to get rid of AOL for another provider, but have been told I'll have a myriad of problems unless I re-install Windows.

AMEN to that! If you have ever had AOHell then you are what is commonly known as SCREWED! Wipe the slate clean and start over! Its the only way.  I have been using K Marts Blue light for over a year and i like it. I have none of the problems that you describe and its CHEAP! $8.95
