BAN THE FRENCH!

Following on the heels of that mass shooting at a city council meeting in a Paris suburb earlier this year, can a English style total ban on firearms be far behind in France?

Could this be the plot for a Forsythe-esque book called, "The Day of the Jackass"?

Good one, IMHO.

Why are the Boulevards of Paris lined with trees?

Perhaps he was just caught up with the emotion of the event and the lyrics of the French national anthem.

It's a French neo-nazi, what the hell do you expect? [:D]

Oh, and from what I understand, French cops are quite a bit more brutal when it comes to handling criminals. They're not as "supervised" as U.S. law enforcement is.

Well thank goodness for this. I'd counted the neo nazis out as viable villians while Hollywood still needs them to avoid offending the important islamic terrorist viewing audience.

Hollywood was right to do that; how little you know my friend. The threat has not gone away... it's only biding it's time for the proper moment to strike! That moment came when Obergrupenfuhrer Le Pen was cheated out of his rightful victory by the insidious french scoundrel and money launderer, Jacques Chirac; an unpardonable slight to the world-wide nazi conspiracy, and just crying out to be avenged.

This vast enterprise of hate put all of it's devilish power into orchestrating one of the most daring assassination attempts ever. So broad in scope, yet intricate in detail. Prepared for long range rifles, from windows and rooftops, the gendarmie would never consider a bolt action rifle fired from a crowd at close range.

Armed with the lastest technology what chance did the corrupt president have? .22 caliber sniper rifles don't grow on trees mister! The shooter even stopped bathing for weeks in advance, to blend in perfectly with the crowd. The plan was flawless!

Alas, the veteran hitman having enjoyed a congratulatory libation to steady his nerves only minutes before zero hour, mistook a bottle of water for a famous white burgundy, and having tasted a foreign substance for the first time in his life, upon taking aim collapsed in a nauseating heap.

"Curses! Foiled again," they cried. [:(]

But they will be back! Be on your guard, gentlemen.

I just read an article about it from Sweden. Hehe, the media's just a "knowledgable" over there as it is here:

"President Jacques Chirac was standing in a military jeep about to turn down onto Champs Elysées when witnesses saw 22-year old Maxime Brunerie remove a 22 millimeter rifle from a brown guitar case. Several people immediately started screaming for help."

I'd be screaming for help too if someone pulled out a 22mm rilfe anywhere close to me!

They weren't screaming for help, they were screaming to surrender.

Remember that guy who killed all those people at a city council meeting a few months back?  See what happened to him: http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/200203/29/eng20020329_93077.shtml

Durn was being interrogated in a locked fifth-floor room when he bolted to a closed window, according to a police statement. It said he opened the window and began climbing out.

``The two officers tried to hold him by his legs, but the determination of the crazed gunman, most of whose body was already hanging outside, made their attempt fruitless,'' the statement said.

Yeah, sure, they were trying to stop him...

From the Corriere della Sera:

"...the man (who attempted to shot Chirac) brought is LONG RIFLE 22 with FIVE CHAMBERED ROUND IN THE BARRELL..."

I didn't know that he used a 22 Long Rifle Gatling weapon instead of CZ Zkm...
