No, WMR cases are wider as well as longer....a LR case would have no support.

Using the .22 mag cylinder in place will lead to erosion of the throat from bullet jump. In a pinch I am sure you can do it...

The .22lr will chamber and fire, but there's a possibility (?) that the case might split because the .22mag chamber is larger in diameter than a .22lr chamber.
On pistols chambered for both, like the Ruger Single Six, a seperate cylinder is used for each chambering. Guess I wouldn't do it as a standard practice. |

Not Safe. No accidents, but 22 WMR is definatly not designed for 22LR is something I've learned the hard way.

They will shoot but cases will split. Probably not safe.

I have an NAA .22 mag that I shoot .22 LR through, is that not safe? It only came with the .22 mag cylinder, never seen any split brass or anything.

I don't swith cylinders in my Single Six and never have had a problem and .22lr is just as accurate as the magnum is.
ETA: I won't be doing it anymore!

He is buying the gun second hand so i dont know if the gun has the second cylinder or not. I couldnt find a seperate .22lr cylinder on their website though. |

The chamber and bore on a .22 WMR is bigger than .22 LR. A fired .22 LR case will fit snugly in a fired .22 WMR case. Try it sometime.

Yes, after a days shooting 22lr from my single six I noticed I had the wrong cylinder in the gun. I found this when going to change it to shoot mags.
