Photo developers at Long's (a Kali based chain) are supposed to report any suspicious photos.  Nothing new.  And my wife wonders why I keep pushing her towards digital...

I have a friend who was photo manager at one of the busiest photo labs in Austin, TX, and he said he saw a lot of "weird stuff" but never had to report any of it to the law.  The worst he would do is give them the negatives back and destroy the prints, as they are not allowed to print them by corporate policy.

Weird stuff was everything from pagan rituals, orgies, drunken frat/sorority parties, etc.

Personally, this is the reason I don't take pictures of my collection.

The photo counter at a local grocery store turned me in, the other day. I had several rolls of evidence photos (mostly drugs from some search warrants) that had to be developed right away, so I took them to a 1-hour photo counter and used a department credit card. The clerk called the department to report me. I got the call, and went back to explain the whole situation. I also understand that we get several child porn cases this way each year.

You know, I am a privacy [b]FANATIC[/b].

BUT...kiddie porn is something I agree they should call in...

There may be some who feel privacy is a 110%must, but children are innocent victims, and pedophiles go right up there with rapists IMHO...Death penalty should be the mandate....

But for cases like this, where someone thinks pictures are this or that, shouldnt they be liable in civil court for damages???

You can't have your cake and eat it too. I too am against pedophiles, but I do value my privacy. How many of you folks take pix of your collection as documentation of ownership? Take it down to your to your local Wal-Mart/Target 1-hour photo service and you could get a SWAT raid on your house because you own an arsenal(ie more than one gun). Agreed the digital camera is the best for maximum privacy, but how about using a Polaroid, or have your film developed that is send out and you get it back in 2-days. Those high-speed processors process so much film that someone just can't sit there and watch it come out like they do at the local 1-hour places. At one time those send-out places used to brag that the picture are unseen by human eyes until you open them.

Two words: "digital camera".
Now of course such thusly won advantage of privacy will be lost if you have your computer sent away for fixing it. Develope a nice relationship with your local geek and have him fix your computer while your watching.

Yes, I hate those producers and consumers of kiddie porn, too; but think about pictures of your BR collection, or the pics you took of your 2 year old daughter in her birthday suit, frolicking in the pool.
