Interdasting. Kessler said he was told that a dozen agents had been removed from the trip. He added that soliciting prostitution is considered inappropriate by the Secret Service, even though it is legal in Colombia when conducted in designated “tolerance zones.” However, Kessler added, several of the agents involved are married.

Shopping on behalf of the boss, I hope. What I wouldn't give for Obama to go out in a Clintonesque blaze of poon chasing glory in an election year...
|
|
It was legal there so what concern is it of the Secret Service what their agents are doing on their free time if it's legal? Is it their bosses jobs to be their wives?
I mean hey, the married ones broke God's Commandment and their vows, but that's between them and God. |

Or chicks with sticks, not sure of the correct nomenclature to use. Either way the current POTUS has probably ATMed a tranny a time or two. |

For the same reason that other federal leo's, people in the intel community, and other folks in positions of trust and power don't do possibly morally questionable, potentially shameful things. One word, leverage. Doing things that may be embarrasing or that others find questionable (especially family members like wives), puts you in a position where others, specifically those associated with foreign governments and current or potential adversaries, may use that information to solicit information, action/participation in things that are in contravention to the interests of the US and it's people, or even inaction or crimes of omission in the case of the secret service. |

Sirius is right. People who have personal secrets and work secrets will often trade work secrets to keep the personal secrets.

They are gonna go from protecting the President to protecting a strip mall.
Dumbasses. |
|
I think everyone is really missing the big picture here. It is an economic summit. I am pretty sure they paid the prostitutes therefore stimulating (pun intended) the local economy. So what that they are guarding the President of the United States while in a foreign country. Who cares if several of them are married. They are helping the economy.........

Well shit, win-win as I see it. Not only did they get some strange but they no longer have to hang out with Barry either

100% unacceptable for people with that level of clearance and access. period.
Isn't this the second thread in a week about SS shennigans? ISTR a thread a few days ago about SS basically smuggling guns in diplomatic motorcades? That one was a foaf* story, but still, kinda funny it's popping up like that. *friend of a friend |

Let's say you are a married guy banging a couple of Colombian prostitutes, 6 months later you get some photos in the mail of you getting your dick sucked sent to your house by some Chinese or Russian intelligence agents, they have now blackmailed you in order for you to save your marriage. |

Confirms what I've believed for a long time - there isn't a single group of people in the world that you can fully trust. Not one, no matter what the stakes are, no matter what the penalties and consequences are.

The back story is that there was no evidence of use of prostitutes (violation of human trafficking laws) .
What was observed was some one on the detail paying cab fare for the a Columbian national he picked up at the club. |
|
COLOMBIA....that's the name of the country.
Columbia is usually a city.......or a space capsule. Even more curious is how the link and the article spells it correctly. edit: sorry, maleante and mdguy90, didn't see you first. _____________________________________________________ ("What's all this I hear about endangered feces?"––Gilda Radner, (w,stte), SNL, "Weekend Update") |

What I thought was more strange was they are allowed to drink heavily during down time in a foreign country while on assignment. Our local SWAT team cant even drink a single beer while on call (24/7) and must submit a written off-time request or call a team leader/supervisor to do so.
Weird, youd think they could hire agents who didn't have those issues. And yes, heavy drinking even when off is an issue.... |
|
I'm not really of the mind that one's employer should be allowed to have any access to one's personal life.
On the other hand, being a SS agent isn't a "normal job" either...........but I don't like those lines blurred. |
|
I'd normally be fine with partying with a room full of hookers, but in this case it's not acceptable. Especially for married men who's job it is to protect the POTUS. WAY WAY too much risk of blackmail and spilling secrets.

I thought stuff like that was technically illegal anyway. Just like it's technically illegal to smoke weed in Amsterdam.

Agents have security clearances. They see and hear TS stuff all the time. Could it be that the hookers were agents too? Agents hoping to catch one of ours with a big mouth? Probably.
This is a huge security issue. They should be investigated, lose their clearances, and lose their jobs. And maybe get prison time. |
|
1. Sirius1 is correct
2. How in the world can they find time to find hookers when they're on an out of country detail with POTUS? |

I'm in no way condoning their activity if it involved human trafficking; however, could it be that they were part of a rather large group of agents who work in shifts, as in, these guys weren't exactly protecting anyone during those hours? Food, a couple of beers, talking to a lady in a club may be a normal occurrence. I think we are imagining these guys were supposed to be in a limo or standing outside his hotel room and that is likely not the case at all.

I was watching this on Fox, the infobabe pronounced Cartagena "CartaJENNa"

When you have a job like that, you are held to a much higher standard than security guard snuffy. Banging hookers (or looking like you did) is not how you want SS agents behaving.

Whether it is Obama or any other POTUS, we don't need his security compromised.

I don't believe this story one bit, something else is going on.

Not paying your whore-bill is bad luck in the Merchant Marine. Causes typhoons and hurricanes and a generally rough ride all the way home.

CNN: This may be the greatest scandal ever in the history of the U.S. Secret Service. One of the 12 would not pay his "escort". The escort complained to the State Dept. (Hilliary) who complained to the SS. The 12 agents were sent back to the U.S. to await further charges and disposition.
Maybe it was an "under-cover" sting operation. |

Stupid way to piss away a career, bet they all end up chasing down phony $20 bills in North Dakota for the next few years.
