Going to pick up some ammo and have 2 options. More of a lower quality, or less of a higher quality.

5k rds of Wolf 62gr FMJ - about 1125 shipped to me

4k rds LC 62gr SS109 for about 1250 shipped to me.

This is for general purpose. Plinking, SHTF,etc

I'd rather have Federal than Wolf anyday. But that's just me.

Defensive ammo ––-  BETTER is well better.

I buy good range ammo. Something that is re-loadable and has a good reputation. I have never used Wolf so I can't speak on it.

I have used cheaper 7.62X54R in the past. It's always went bang, but I've had a few broken/cracked case shoulders.

For my M1 I shoot HXP surplus. It's cheap, about 115 bucks shipped with ammo and can for 200 rounds of HXP. I've never had any problems with it.

From the experiences I've had; I will spend the extra money. I can't knock Wolf because I have never used it. But I try to buy good range ammo. No super max or anything for me.

Get both.

For plinking ammo, quantity has a quality all it's own.

Of the two you listed, I would go quality.

If it wasn't wolf, I'd say quantity.  For those two choices, go with quality.
