Awesome. I actually saw a B-17 fly directly over me at low altitude on the morning of the air show at NAS Oceana several years ago. It was a sight to behold.

I don't care what anyone says, the best sound in the world is a WWII piston aircraft flying overhead.

When I was a kid a pair of B-25's flew almost directly over my house at what seemed like treetop level. I could see sky through the waist gunner windows. Sounded like four locomotives coming down the street.

I remember one summer as a kid playing in a little league game seeing a B-17 fly over head and circle the field before flying off.
I was a WW2 buff even back then, so I knew what it was. Ever since then I've loved the sound prop planes. I sure wish that one of my parents would've taken a photo of it for me. |
