[ARCHIVED THREAD] - What do you make of this?

Saw this a couple of weeks back while out of town golfing. Remembered to take the camera this time. It is around 80' in the air and must have a fantastic view of Hood Canal. Stopped by the house on Friday afternoon to ask a few questions and maybe schmooze my way up in it but, nobody was home.

I saw a similar house a few weekends ago down by lake Michigan, here's a pic I took:

I'm almost positive that the reason behind the one I saw was to provide a nice view of the lake. There were too many trees for the lower floor of the house to have a lake view without it. I'd say the house was about 100 yards from the beach.

I like the second one. The stone would make it harder for them to burn you out. A good shape charge on the other hand.....

No. Those would make a tower so high that you would run out of atmosphere before you reach the top.
