1.  My buddy had one in college and when I saw what it did to steel plates and woodchucks, I knew I had to have one.

2.  If it's a good enough platform for the US military, it's good enough for me.

I got the first one because
1)  Liberals don't want me to have one.
2)  Mom doesn't want me to have one.
3)  I *DO* want me to have one.

I got the rest of them because
1)  The first was addicting.
2)  Having friends (also gun owners) refer to my collection as the "arsenal" makes me feel good [:D]

the question was about why you chose to own an ar15.  not to own just any arm.  "bear arms" is more than just guns.
