Well, at least I feel that way.

I've been reading some of the posts, about the irony of Japanese native-born citizens bidding goodbye to their parents, before fighting in the war for the United States.

I can't express in words how much I hate China, and neither can my parents.  Nor can I express how much I hate these damn Chinese people who are here that are so f****** anti-American.  Believe me, these people hate us, and yet still live here.  Stopped by a store in a "Chinese" community, and the general consensus was that it was OUR (U.S.) fault, even hearing that China should execute the pilots.

Over the years, the habits and the mentality of many Chinese people has caused me to pretty much separate myself from them.  Irony is that I do not have a single Asian friend.  I just can't seem to fit in.  At the mention that I love shooting, outdoors activities, barbecues, classic rock, drive an American car, and other "American" things, I get that "look".

I was one of the only Asian people in my community growing up, and over time, people looked up to me and accepted me for WHO I was, not my face.

Is this going to change?

Looking through posts here and on AK-47.net, it sorta disturbs me.  I think the distinction between Chinese-American and Commie bastard is quickly blurring.

I really do feel that a conflict between us and China is imminent.  Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not even in an year.  But soon.

And when it comes...what will happen?

I pride myself on standing for everything American, being involved with RKBA and other important issues...many of which any other person my age wouldn't care a hoot about.

Will that not matter?  Am I going to have to "prove" my loyalty as I watch my parents (working every day of their lives even until my dad became disabled, never broke a law, paid their taxes, etc. etc) get sent off to a camp?

Ok, maybe a little overboard, but the gist of it is:

I am really concerened about the backlash that this will soon have.  Believe me, if TSHTF ever happens, I don't care who is in my town, yellow, white or green or wearing blue helmets.  I'm going to shoot, and fight I will for THIS country.  The country which has provided me with the freedom and the enviornment that has formed me into what I am today.

So if the day ever comes, and you see a 5'9, 240lb Asian guy with short hair, toting an AR-15....don't shoot, okay? [:D]

(rant mode off)

Any general thoughts?

Too many people sitting behind a monitor in the comfort of their homes are quick to want to  fight with some foreign country over any issue.
The day that Chinese troops pull into my driveway (just kidding), I mean hit our beaches I will fight like a badger. I am not returning my MAK 90 or my Nikes either.

Yea I have a couple of thoughts....

1. Since you, by your own words, have seperated yourself from other Chinease, do they treat you as a sell out?? Kind of like a orential "Uncle Tom"?

2. Even though I don't think the US will ever imprison another race again, like we did the Japanease, I am sure the Chinease would be treated differently if a war came. look what happened during Desert Storm.

3 If you can shoot, own your own weapon, and have ammo, I would gladly stand beside you when the time comes.  Because you are obviously an American...not because of the color of your skin, but because of what's in your heart and soul.

I think I am pretty much an "uncle tom" of sorts.

I've tried my best, its almost like beating your head on a wall at times when you try to explain to people of your own ethnicity why you do the things you do.  Believe me, i've tried, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I they think I am doing everything wrong.

A few examples:

1) The majority of Chinese people think Japanese engineering is the best thing since sliced bread.  You drive an American car, you aren't "Azian youth" etc. etc. etc"

2) I'm ardently RKBA. My parents actually bought me the guns before I could have my own (before 18), and trusted me with them.
Just about every other Chinese parent she spoke to thought she was out of her mind.

3) I rise when the national anthem is being played.  I proudly say the Pledge of Allegiance everytime there is a school function.  I get ticked when I see American flags being burned and spit on.  I once shared my "opinion" once to someone for taking a piss on a flag at the local park.  Every Chinese person (or Asian for that matter) that I spoke to thought I was nuts.

4) And of course the endless question I get asked by every other Chinese person:
"Why do you love the U.S. so much, China is way better with a longer history, what do the Americans have to be proud of?"

(That could take 100 pages to answer)

So yeah, you could say I have become an "uncle tom" over the years.  I don't care who a person is, if they believe in the values of an American, they can be my friend.  It's just I haven't found a Chinese/Asian person around my area yet.

I really don't mean to offend anyone by this thread.  I know that 99.9999999% of the people out there are real, race-blind American people.  It's the .000001 percent I'm worried about.  It's the internment camps of WWII that just get me thinking...

Hope you all understand!

I think most of the anger against Chinese is not racially motivated but politically..
and if anybody knows anything about china a great deal of the population are merely slaves of the communist state, with the leaders taking the lions share of the benefits of others labor "they" (leaders) are not truely communists but actually thieves...and not much different then some american politicans...communism is our enemy but not the chinese people..there are many good/ no great /chinese Christian leaders and followers languishing in prisons right now..as in most inter
national conflicts it is the leaders who embroil their citizens in conflict and not the people themselves..one of the few nice things about being an old soldier is Ive killed enough to last me a lifetime and so I dont have much hatred left in me except for those who are cruel and lawless and who encourage others to be so inclined and I hate that in myself when I see it...The Chinese leaders ordered their pilots to harrass and intimidate aircraft flying withing range of electronic evesdropping..we need to know what they are up to and they feel the need to stop us...They bumped the aircraft and could have recklessly killed everyone on board..this is how wars start as each side begins to add to the pot...is war inevidible only God knows...according to a lot of modern day bible scholars yes over oil , over water, over spiritual divisons. My personal feelings about going to war are probably different then most but then Ive already been there and not very anxious to repeat it especially on US soil...The compelling reason to go to war is National Security....but how many times have our politicians embroiled us in wars of national security that really turned out to be for some politicans friends interest only to hear the business of America IS business..
I like to drive my Dodge cummins diesel truck but do I want my son or daughters or nephews or neices dead or crippled up and abandoned in some corrupt VA hospital so that I can have cheap diesel fuel...NO God forbid f*#K that Id rather ride a bike

SoCalGunner..ya know what I never felt like I really fit in either specially after I got home from VietNam and got spit on - Berkeley punks...got into a hassle with a guy wearing a Berkeley jacket twenty years after .... was at an art fair for vietnam war artists (vietnamese and american art represented) and there near the pow exhibit is this guy wearing of all things a UC Berkely jacket well I spent most of my frustration after vietnam in the wt room or working construction so I just went off on the guy and had to be pulled off him ..he turned out to be a college prof/ (who not only bore me no animosity for attacking him)  and was writing a book on war - during vietnam time frame had been a tutor at Berkely freely helping  returning vets catch up he was  not one of those who threw dog crap in baggies at us or spit on us..I was wrong to blindly attack him ...to this day we are friends ...he even consulted with me
on a project he was working on and has invited me to speak to the class he teaches on War...my point people regardless of skin color or even politial persuasions in the clintch are not always what they seem..sometimes friends are found wearing the colors of ones enemies and sometimes enemies are found wearing the colors of ones friends

One reason we have gun control is because the government is worried about an ethnic/race war. We have all sorts of people her and many cultures. They just don't mix. Look at the animals in africa they go to the watering hole to share there basic needs then retreat to seperate places. The same with americans. There are many different neighborhoods with different cultures but when the cultures mix then there is tension. That is one reason government wants gun control. Not to mention the government pits one group of people against another for votes. So they stir up the situation.

Tell them you are from Tiawan, they are allies.

Funny how China used to be our buddies, and Russia the enemy.  Almost reversed now.

Think of the Koreans - we hate the North and love the South.

Speaking of which, we didn't send Koreas or Vietmanese to internment camps during those wars, so that should look promising.  (all bets are off if Chinese troops invade our hemispere)

Hang in there buddy.

SoCalGunner,
If these other Chinese Americans? that you speak of dislike the U.S. so much, then why are they here?  You might ask them that.  If they carry such animosity for this country, then they would do better to remain in China.  Another very vocal minority that we have here comes to mind, but on that I will shut up to keep the peace.

The Chinese affinity for Japanese cars is very surprising to me.  Considering the Japanese aggression and atrocities, (for which they never apologized) that were committed on Chinese soil.

The confinement of Japanese Americans during WWII, some who were born in the U.S., was in contravention of the Constitution, no doubt about it.  While there were valid security concerns, it was inexusable.  Racist.

China has so many troops you could't kill all of them if they invaided. I think the number of soliders is 200 million. You couldn't reload fast enough. socalgunner,

i read your first post and was touched by your sentiment ole buddy. i feel the same way about people who complain and bitch and moan about America. i retired from the military and have met and befriended different people of varying races, some were even u.s.military members! (surprise!) so i have a few things to say about people that live here and yet show NO gratitude for what this country has given them:

DO NOT let me hear anyone bitch about my country unless they have spent an hour in my boots, because i will show them the way to the nearest f*cking airport, pull their f*cking credit cards/cash out of their f*cking pockets and buy them a ticket to their f*cking "home" country.

RENOUNCE YOUR CITIZENSHIP YOU BASTARDS THAT PISS ON AND BURN MY FLAG! i have friends that saluted, respected, and died for that Flag. i still shed a tear when i think of them. DO NOT let me see anyone disrespect my Flag or they will feel my boot on their face.

No one forced anyone to come and live and be an American. we all came here to this great land for the opportunity it gives us. I paid back what was given to me by giving half of my life in the service of my country. what have you, people that complain about America, done in return?

socalgunner, i will be honored to "watch your six" when the S hits the F.

Difference people has different views, and this country is a free country, people can say what they want to say. If you want everybady listen to you and think what you think or do what you want them to do, I can tell you that you better go to China and work for the F$^&ing chinese goverment.
And I think even some the foreigners says some bad things about this country but I still think they are better than some the "orginial" americans who sells drug to kid, rob people on the street. In fact, I never heard any chinese bomb the federal building(mabbe they still don't love this country enough)

I grew up in a small (@8000) rural community where you judged people by their actions not the color of their skin. A handshake was the same as any legal contract. socalgunner, I share your sentiments.  I also agree with what others have said here in that it does not matter what color you are or what you look like; if you love our country and what it stands for, then that is all that matters.

I wonder though if these Chinese "Americans" are so quick to curse our Government, and demand death for our serviceman, and hate America so much, then they probably wouldn't mind giving up their high paying jobs, American "opportunity", welfare checks, free medical care, and protection of our military and get the hell out of Dodge.

Here's my take on things.  I am not a racist, and I don't play one on TV.  In my opinion, racism is a sign of a weak mind.  That said, flame away if you must.

What I find interesting is the love of country and patriotism expressed by people of many races not immediately associated with being "American".  Some of these people put most of us "Americans" to shame in this area.  If a person of foreign descent has lived in an oppressive society and then later immigrated to the US, I think many really appreciate what freedom America has left to offer much more than those whose ancenstry can be traced back to the early settlers.

One thing that gets me is this (insert race here)/American thing that is going around.  If I am a black/Chinese/whatever man living in America, I am an American first and foremost.  My ethnic heritage is a distant second.  The XXXXXX/American label, I believe, is racist in itself, and was brought into being by the Socialists of this country.  I refuse to describe another person as an African/American or Chinese/American or any other label for this reason.

I am of white and Indian descent and proud of it, but my race is no better than any other.  Your blood is just as red as mine.  I let any racist remarks just fall away, because in my opinion they can kiss my a$$.

That said, and from reading your post, I got your six anytime, SoCalGunner.

I know that the caucasians in the U.S. won't admit it but they are all racists to one degree or another. During WW2 it was the Americans of Japanese descent, during the Gulf War it was Americans of Middle Eastern Descent, and now it will be Americans of ANY asian descent because you all just look alike to them. Did you see a big anti-serb move in the U.S. during the last military action in Serbia? NO. Why? Because they are white and don't look like foreigners. Another thing is that when they say "american" they will automatically assume this means "white" also. Ask yourself this, do "americans" refer to you also as an "american" or chinese?

I am depressed now. Thank you very much.

Living in SoCal, I don't think you will have to worry about being interned. I have many Chinese/Taiwanese-American friends. In fact the area where I grew up, Alhambra, Ca went from nearly 80% white to 70% Chinese. It would be nearly impossible to try to force such a large population into exile without a major backlash. Remember that most Japanese Americans were "NOT" interned into camps, only those living on the mainland. The vast majority of Japanese American's during WW2 lived in Hawaii and NOTHING happened to them. These Hawaiian born natives kept their land, businesses and were free to travel and do their daily business unmolested. Even if the SHTF with communist China, living in an area with such a large Asian population, you should be O.K.

If you are the one and only Chinese guy in a city of 1 million, "Watch Out"! The US might temporarily intern you just for your own protection. Or move you to Monterey Park. [;)] We have come a long way since the 40's, but there are many people that still live by a "US" vs. "THEM" dogma.

IM, I hear what you are saying here and with your other post in which you label the 'wonder breads' as racist. Maybe you are of an ethic persuasion other than white. If so, maybe your experiences have led you to believe this.

If this is the case - sorry. We are not all like that. With respect to your quote - this is apples and oranges. Middle Easterners were NOT locked up or detained. Those that were here legally were not deported. With respect to them being scrutinized - yeah, considering the nature of the bombing I would say it was justified. We have persons scrutinized everyday in this county because they may potentially be affiliated with group that is wanted. This has absolutely nothing to do with internment camps.

Imbrog|io, why waste time stating the obvious? Sure, many whites are racist. But so are Blacks, Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Mexicans, yada yada yada. People are tribal, it's human nature. Sure, when I see a Chinese guy doing 50 on the freeway, it pisses me off. And when I see a car filled with 20 Mexicans weaving down the road on bald tires, I think "Don't these people have any sense?" But in the end, I give everyone a chance as an individual. If your car craps out in an intersection, I'll get out and help you push it. I don't give a crap what color you are.

I can understand Asian-Americans having problems. I have a really good friend who's Chinese-American and he was the subject of a couple of racial slurs. This guy is the most "American" guy I have ever met. Every fiber of his being is American (he was born here). One time some jerk gave him crap so he said "How about I shove a maglite up your ass pal". The other guy said, "Chill dude, I thought you were Chinese". So, I can see this could be a problem.

As far as internment camps, all of my father's Japanese-American high school friends were interned at the start of WWII. That was a raw deal. However, note that 10,000 German-Americans were interned in Texas during that same period. I asked my father about it and he said, "Sure, there were Japanese spys here, but not nearly as many as Hoover would have you think. In fact, the only blatently open subversive activities we knew of at that time were the Germans in the midwest. These guys were marching down the street in Nazi regalia."

i've always wondered why we keep the rex 84 program in operation. i can understand keeping a couple open just in case a large number of illegal immigrants come in, but from what i've read (not exact proof) there are a lot of FEMA's camps still in operation around the country. thank you hoover.

as long as im around, i'll try my best not to let pro-american chinese get imprisoned in rex84 camps. or any other ethnic or political group for that matter.  even socialists

thus so far, most asians that i have met are pretty cool and laid back. must depend on area
im a little partial to asians because i think their women are really beautifull [:)]

our problem is not china, but totaltarian ideals that teach that we do not have a right to our own life as property. america is not above the same action.

government and country are two seperate things. i can fathom being pro-american and anti-(corrupt)government at the same time.

as far as burning the american flag. if its your own flag that you paid for with your own money, then you should be able to burn it to a crisp. same first amendment right that grants me the ability to burn a U.N. flag or a NAZI flag [;D]

This post hits kinda close to home for me. I come from a very military and american loving family and found in myself what i thought was rasism. Im not sure what everyone here would say, It started mostly with the middle east conflicts. I live in an area with a lot of "ethnic" groups that hate americans and america and in my ignorance i just started hating back and lashing out at "those damn foriegners". People that cant speak english and show disrespect to our great country. To me they arent AMERICAN by their actions and their views and should GET THE HELL OUT!!! But i dont think your any different than me, the color of your skin, the speech of your ancestors doesnt mean squat to me, its all about your actions and the love you have for this country.
Id have your back any time!!!

American has nothing to do with where you came from or what color your skin is.  It is all about believing in the American ideals of Liberty, Equality, and Justice.  Many people come to this country that believe in these.  Many come to this country for the economic opportunity that derives from the dream without understanding or believing in it.  Sadly, there are many that were born here that also don't believe in the dream.  They say the words but they  really mean Enslavement, Power, and Advantage. These miserable creatures are called "Democrats"

SoCalGunner - I have a good friend who is a young, American lady of Chinese desent.  She feels very much the same as you do, and she is not afraid to express it.  The difference with her is that I think she catches some flak from her parents over the things you've mentioned; sounds like your parents are decent Americans.  I think you have your head on straight and I am happy to refer to you as a fellow American.

Don't give up the fight, I think that you're the one "in the right."

Dont know if its racism per se as much as skin color is the first distinguishing characteristic ....people look for identifiable patterns to see who is friend or foe
Think you are right in one respect all people are "racist" it is merely prefering ones own kin over strangers to start with...grow up in a small town where everybody knows everybody and strangers arent really welcome and it takes two or three generations to be accepted..this changed with the interstate and cabel TV and multinational corperations...
Thanks to Clinton this country is awash in undocumented (no birth certificate or crime history reports) foreigners...Chinese students most of whom are very nice people extremely polite, and dedicated students (hope my kids turn out half as good in that dept) but where is their final loyalty going to lay...the commies hold their families hostage and after examining the decadence of the west it would be dificult to argue this criticism often leveled at us by their leaders (of course while denying their enslaving most of their own people in work camps or prison for any outspoken views that deviated from the party line)...

I dont really believe that the Chinese people would willingly choose communism if given a choice...in fact when communist restraints are lifted off economies those econmies and the people living in them tend to do better ...If anything this event may actually tend to stir up anti communist sentiment inside of China...China got harder under Clinton because Clinton was weak...perhaps Bush will win this little standoff and China will again soften towards its expansionist goals and it cruel treatment of its own people

So Cal Gunner,
Did you see where Chinese American Luscent Employees were arrested by the FBI for selling tech secrets to the PRC.
You could be right about jailing.
Then again, if you are bilingual, I can imagine they would want to draft you it came to that.

So what.  Why do many white Americans and Jews own BMWs and Mercedes Benz's?  Why do many here own Chinese AKs (remember, China kicked USA's ass in N. Korea)?

Ya well, Im a Filipino (who's grandpa was a US Army scout killed by the japs in WWII) driving a Toyota with six AR-15s in the trunk and uncle samuel taught me how to triple-nickel-forty your house if you piss me off.

Why? do u ask.....cuz we can.  Jap cars are cool, ARs are cool, AKs are cool and cratering charges are cool.  Aint it great to be an American!!
